Um, go back and read the past year's posts in this thread. Most of this was predicted exactly as it is turning out. As early as last March - April - May - June, this was predicted. It's not about hindsight. It's about having foresight.

Also, with the same electronic device you typed out your missive a person can search the largest repository of information ever available to the public --- at your literal fingertips. There is no excuse in this day and age we live in to not learn something new simply by utilizing the internet (wisely and critically, of course)... unless you're one of the 2 billion out of 8+ billion who don't have access to the internet. But when more people have possible access to the internet than running or even clean water in the world and the fact people are browsing this forum, I'd assume they have access.

While I agree Uberpie communication skills suck (and I have stated so many many times in this thread), when they decided to pull out this new idea of seasons back with the release of v0.95.7 on 01 Jul 2023, Uberpie stated (#28,387):
We’ve decided to divide Taffy Tales into seasons, with this update marking the beginning of season 5. (We will release seasons 1-4 as separate downloads soon).

Soon is relative for Uberpie. Even then we knew soon wouldn't be anywhere near soon. That's part of Uberpie's poor communication, foresight, and planning.

After Uberpie was kicked off of Patreon in early March 2024, he stated they would focus on making the current content available on Steam and maybe open a Subscribestar. Then they made the Subscribestar in late March 2024. Getting kicked off Patreon is what escalated Uberpie's promise on when soon would be:

• 1 Apr: We're diligently continuing our work, primarily focusing on preparing Seasons 1-4 for Steam.
• 10 Apr: We are currently reworking Seasons 1-4 for release on Steam.
• 7 May: Just touching base to let you guys know we’re still chipping away at reworking season 1 for Steam release.
• 21 May: We're continuing to work on the main script and small talks for Season 1 on Steam.
• 4 Jun: In addition to the huge amount of reworked content being undertaken, we want to confirm that season 1 will now have new, exciting, routes for both Mary and Tiffany. That's bound to make season 1 even more exciting than it already is!

I could go on, thanks to Vanheller subscribing to Uberpie's SubscribeStar and being the one who shared every single post from there to here after Timendo stopped following 3 years of loyal patronage to Uberpie on Patreon and sharing posts here.

But I think you get the idea. Yeah, Uberpie sucks at communication. But it's been quite clear it was only going to be the beginning portion of the game that was getting the first Redux release.

What was unclear was where the break was going to be for Season 1 to end.... But succhiale was pretty much spot on back in October 2024:

I was doubtful (#34,115) in their analysis, even saying if Season 1 is only what you present here -that means season 1 would have Clara's rape in the bathroom and classroom as the only lewd content (outside of peeping, for the most part). If I were a player buying a season on Steam - I would feel cheated for lack of lewd content.

Now we see why Uberpie's estimate of 5 Seasons was off... and even eventually thinks it's only 3 seasons--- they moved v0.8 and v0.9 out of Season 2 and into Season 1 (while leaving Sara's scenes out). Kind of vindicating my initial take. Still, based upon Season 1 Redux - there's 5 Seasons if the content were divided similarly. Because Uberpie is now underestimating the amount of content in v0.22, v0.47, v0.68.

But, I apologize to succhiale for doubting their work. They had done their research.

Oh wow, I must've hit a nerve. You’re out here replying like I accused you personally of designing the Redux release yourself. My comment was about why people keep asking, not whether the information exists. But sure, let's pretend the real issue here is people's "laziness" rather than the fact that the developer left things vague enough that people keep asking in the first place.

I mean, come on. You’re treating every comment like a personal attack on your ego. And the thing is, I usually agree with you, it might not be in here, but all the time I've been on your side in most of your arguments, because you do make solid points, but this time you're just being a total ass about it.

If you're going to keep dropping dictionary definitions like they're some kind of mic-drop moment, cool, Redux means "brought back". But what exactly was brought back? Just Season 1? A remaster? A remake? Any actual changes? Just because the information is buried somewhere in this thread doesn't mean everyone’s going to go on a scavenger hunt to find it. That's literally why forums exist—to ask and discuss. And yet, despite all this, here you are, still condescendingly replying to everyone like they personally rang your doorbell and asked you specifically, instead of just posting to the general forum.

Yes, people can Google things. But not everyone does, and that's fine. Not everyone enters a thread after doing a full research project, and honestly? They shouldn't have to. Side note - Good luck with Uberpie on itch, accepting PayPal payments for his product that definitely violates PayPal policies. Itch even states that:

One of the reasons Patreon has the policies they use is because of PayPal policies. Uberpie shouldn't be using PayPal or Stripe (or Payoneer?). Yes, I know there are games on itch which also violate the payment processor terms. I'm not an idiot. But I'm not the developer who got kicked off Patreon and denied on Steam because of content (different content between the two, but still content violations). Hopefully Uberpie's bad luck doesn't come back to bite him --- all it would take are a couple of reports for his itch account to get reviewed for compliance.

It is finally available for purchase on itch. Now android users on F95 will just have to wait. And then we'll get the second wave of "WTF?" in the threads.

Some people aren't as adamantly against AI as others. And, actually some of those AI images are better than the original hand-drawn work. I mean, while there's some inferior AI, there's also some AI that could be seen as better:

can't use the mac version. the menu screen is too big and I can't minimize it so that I can start the game. Im stuck with the top half of the screen and not the bottom. Is there a patch for this or any tips?

Again, both have issues with them - but for me, I would choose the second version and not the first. We're going to have to agree to disagree because the first image looks like something a less-skilled artist would produce, overall, in my opinion.
(yes, I see the balls issue you point to --- but the balls are not the focus for those images and you really have to linger at the balls to realize they are a bit weird)

Great question. It all depends upon what you want to do.

Do you want to play a version with a lot of content? Go play v0.89.8 "Seasons 1-4" and then v1.07.3 "Season 5"
If you strictly want a netorare playthrough, play the short completely optional and separate netorare route in v1.07.3 "Season 5"
Do you want to see 4k images and video with some additional content added of the first 20-30% of the game? Play Season 1 Redux.

Actually, I saw that Count Morado mentioned me and my research on the content of the seasons. Well, it's time to write my worthless opinion.
Yes, I parsed the files myself and found the division into seasons. But I didn't expect so little of the old content to be remade. There's plenty of new content (considering they used old scenes from other seasons, playing it up through dreams and obscene visions. Someone already wrote in discord that it's a cheap trick, but it worked on me). But here's an old one... I'll be honest - I was confused by the announcements that Uber was making. + the game files already have some of the content, such as training with Gerda in the gym. And here I have some misunderstandings:
1) either they cut some of the content they originally planned to shove into season 1.
2) or they have already advanced in the work with the second season (but here again I have a discrepancy in my head - in Steam they wrote that it is so - they have advanced, but then why loud phrases like - if sales will not be - we will have to finish with Taffy and do small projects? Why then did they have to run ahead with this project if there is a risk of ending? Or was Uber so confident of approval from Steam? Why not do season 1 quicker and see the reactions than cooking up some blanks for season 2)?
Again, if they've progressed - season 2 should take a lot less time. The character models are ready, the code base is ready, the CG part is ready. The only question is how long Uber will drag all this out, if they continue the project at all.
Now for the game itself. I'll try to keep it brief.
Pros:
1) cool, modern, user-friendly interface. Very cool realized, I liked it.
2) the overall quality of art has improved, it's cool. But there is one unpleasant aspect, namely the problem with faces. I don't know, maybe it's my subjective problem, but it seems to me that some of the faces in this version are even worse than in 0.95.7, where Uber just started using AI and made a lot of mistakes. But about that in the cons.
3) There is enough new content.
4) the narrative is more logical than before.
5) music. They changed the music, in general - I like the new one too. In my opinion, Uber has always had good taste in music.
That's kind of it.
Cons:
1) the biggest minus is the faces. It really stands out and makes it very hard to fully immerse yourself. There are some very cool examples of faces:

As I've written before - this is probably the peak of Uber's AI implementation. It has everything you need - Uber's style and neural network detailing. But look at this:

Wtf? Maybe it's subjective of course, but I can't look and take this art normally, because I saw the first art. And that's the problem - Uber shows that he can do faces at the highest level, and then shows this. Here are Becca's faces, purely for comparison. Clearly I've vilely taken the worst examples, but it's in the game, so why not?

I don't know, I have when I look at 1 art the feeling I'm playing a horror game. No, definitely the features plus or minus match, but..... It really takes me out of the immersion. If that's just my problem - okay, no problem. I've noticed a similar problem with almost all characters who have active actions at this point.
2) as Count Morado already wrote - I think Uber is kind of weird about the division into seasons. It is clear that the seasons should not be the same size, but after they wrote that the current 5 seasons will be combined into three and we got 1 season of the redux, which feels shorter than the current 5 (maybe my eyes are clouded because I've already gone through it, but such feelings) - how do they plan to cram everything left into 2 other redux seasons? And if they've been working on it for a year - how long will it take to work on the other seasons? Hopefully we'll get some news soon about what's already finished in season 2 (referring to my reasoning at the beginning).
3) well again, I'll be honest and not be crooked - the yearly expectation for me was not met. Clearly, my expectations are my problems. It's clear that I haven't tried making games myself, so I'm only judging from a fan's perspective. The argument that I take the game for free will not work, because I'm subscribed to Uber and according to some people I'm a cash cow. And I'll be honest, I don't even know what I was waiting for. It's just these feelings - not this, not that.
4) I didn't find AI animations that were shown in Steam.
There seems to be no more minuses, but it's enough - faces, the volume of old content. I'd give it 6-7 points out of 10.

I'm actually more into porting games if there's no native support, it's super easy for RenPy and quite hard for Unity.

There is already a linux version on itch as well

This is what i dont get. We know for atleast a year that dev will remake the game with AI(im neutral about i find the old art uncanny) and yet some of you people choose to stay and gripe about no new content and ai and shit.

I take a unique art style over AI slop any day of the week. In my opinion AI simply doesn't really has the consistency needed to make a game out of it.
