"play testing the game" suuure
I think the issue is what Uberpie classes as playtesting compared to what other people think it is. Uberpie's version of play testing is not just a straight forward bug hunt. If you look back through the the forum close to other updates you'll see lostraven often has to write bits during play testing. There are also times when Uberpie adds more artwork as well.

His version of play testing appears to be litteraly that, how the game plays. Play testers are seemingly asked not just to comment on bugs found but things like, did the script make sense, did plot development feel rushed, did it all feel "in character"

Based on this then, as i said earlier, artwork is often added, whole scenes have been added before and, consequently, and lostraven gets brought in to write more script.

So yeah, based on history i think it is in play testing and lostraven is being asked to write additional stuff or amend something that's already been written.

This is probably why this game unlike the rest of its genre has FAR fewer spelling errors, illogical sentences, fragmented sentences, and poor grammar -- Since its a visual novel id imagine Game Testing Phase may also function as a Scriptie (script supervisor) phase and may essentially be there to keep continuity and look for plot and grammar errors

This is nothing new in their playtesting phase.

The game has a shitton of errors - spelling, grammar, etc. I think Uberpie doesn't do copy/paste of lostraven's text - but types it, and Uberpie being French then mistypes.

What has happened in the past is that as they do playtesting, Uberpie decides he wants to change a scene or add something and so he has lostraven revise or write more. For example - one month after an update was projected to be completed and in the middle of playtesting -- lostraven was tasked with writing more content #19,498 -- the update came out a month and a half later (over 2-3 months after the original Uberpie estimate -- which is one reason why they won't estimate release dates, again).
How close do you think they sre from a release by the way discussion in the discord are going -- if anyones watching
The development team doesn't discuss that in the discord. But it's farther than you hope.

Compare the mistakes in that game to OTHER in the genre -- not nearly as egregious

This is what I'm thinking.
Yes I get the game had an NTR route planned, however they've strayed away from that for years and that now most likely made majority or their supporters anti-NTR.

Adding NTR content is one thing, but making a whole route this late for it into production?
It's just odd to do that when Uber's whole model behind TT over the course of its life cycle is giving what the majority want and again I doubt majority of his supporters are for this update.

I'll say this one more time, the best way to determine how many people actually are giving support for an NTR route is creating a poll after this update just available for patrons.
Personally I just don't doubt it being close of 50% of patrons being in favor of this.
Hyperbole and hyperbole with you, being a main route fan doesn't mean you're an ntr hater. It means one of two things, someone sensible that doesn't mind ntr fans getting what they want because they're not immature and have an ego, or someone insensible who is a hater of ntr and goes overboard. I'd like to think that most main route fans are sensible individuals.
It's obvious that the ratio of main route fans and ntr fans on the ntr side has increased quite considerably based on what I previously said that you ignored. So really, nothing odd.

you can look at it this way:
even if the majority don't like ntr, not all(probably a small percentage) of them would go frenzy over having an ntr content even if avoidable.
but the ntr lovers might be even more than 20% of supporters, of course the majority might feel a bit discontent because part of the development is spent on ntr.
so if we use a metaphore, of limited rations for limited people, the most profitable way is to keep everyone alive.
what you are suggesting is to keep only feeding the majority and letting the (unkown percentage)rest die from hunger-by completely ignoring the ntr supporters instead of keeping everyone somewhat satisfied.

Vanilla fans are almost surely the majority but that’s not the point of the update right now.

NTR has been planned since day 1. Uber himself has wanted there to be an NTR path since the beginning. In the beginning updates he was even mixing the paths leading up to the decision to split personalities or not (where the old NTR route and vanilla path would split). He hasn’t ever “strayed” from this idea but has more caved to the incessant whining from the very loud parts of the vanilla community. The very same that come here and can’t shut the fuck up about how much they hate NTR as if it being in a porn game has crippled them in real life.

The plan was then made to focus on the vanilla path to appease these people and almost surely the majority of patrons. He stated explicitly that the NTR updates would come much later and it’s been like 3-4 years of main plot updates. He hasn’t haphazardly thrown this in last minute, it’s been the plan for years. He’s also personally said he wants to do this route a couple times iirc. It’s not going anywhere and despite the whinging the vanilla guys can handle one NTR update.

On a personal note you seem to be part of the vanilla group, so you asking so incessantly to do a poll to basically take years of planned content out of the game puts you in a poor light. I don’t care about NTR but I love the art and want as much as I can get, so when you and others ask for content to be cut to seemingly appease your fetish it’s super cringe.

Also asking for a poll here does nothing, the only staff member here anymore is lostraven and he only stops in to laugh at our constant squabbling like this.

Edit: Just saw your other post and something I wanted to point out. The only reason we even have a split update right now is because after YEARS of main plot updates the vanilla fans couldn’t stop crying that A single NTR update was coming. The bitching did nothing but cause the split of the game that has everyone scared and extend the release time to work on the main story side. For the group that hates cuck shit they sure do a good job cucking themselves and everyone else out of the game.

These are solid points, but is it maintainable pleasing both sides for that long with their current team?
there is a different writer for the ntr route, the first update needs to be big to get the story to a decent progress.
but they can update the ntr route with smaller updates along with the bigger normal route updates.
maybe the ai uber uses could make it possible to release a lot more proper art in a shorter time

Then why don't we find out how many NTR patrons there is through a patreon poll?
It's the best way to determine how many fans it truly has and if it's worth the trouble continuing a whole route for them. I'm not saying it needs to be over 50%, but what I was saying is I doubt it gets anything close to that if the poll were to happen.

From your earlier post, I didn't ignore I just saw the other guys reply first.
What I can gather is while yes I know an NTR update will increase supporters from that front, but I believe it will also greatly diminish the number of supporters who have been there for years waiting for main route updates.

In the long run this might be troublesome considering the wait times between updates. This is why they're making a main route update alongside the NTR one, however that won't be something they'll be able to maintain for long considering how stretched out the team seem to be now.
This whole argument is moot and, in fact, illogical. The netorare content was meant from the beginning and, is obvious that Uberpie has wanted in his game. Yes, Uberpie conceded the development after the initial release to only work on the main route because of a very vocal minority group of people who weren't netorare fans. Now he wants to get back to developing the netorare route which has been deserted for a long time because of appeasing that vocal minority of people who aren't netorare fans. Not saying that the all non-netorare fans are the minority - but that the vocal anti-netorare people are a minority.

  1. It's Uberpie's game, and he will do with it as he wishes
  2. He's wanted to develop the netorare route since day one
  3. In order to appease the very vocal minority group of the non-netorare fans which can't even endure having optional routes in their gameplay, there will be at least 2 separate versions of this game so that they don't have to worry about it
  4. The main route has attracted a lot of fans
  5. The netorare route will add more fans who are most inclined to enjoy the new route
  6. Eventually, the third route that has been planned from the beginning, the sharing route (friendship route) will also be be added and will add more fans
Here's the thing - since the initial days of development, because Uberpie has neglected developing the netorare route he has alienated a portion of his fanbase that has been waiting 5 years for content. He's wanting to give that fanbase the content they have been asking for for years. He's not alienating his main route fanbase because he's still developing it. So instead of the idea that he's wasting his time - in fact - he is looking to build his fanbase.

This argument has been going in circles now for a couple of pages because it's been premised on a polar concept that by adding one thing, Uberpie is taking away from another. That is not the case. Both still exist. Both are still getting content updates. It may or may not be a win/win - but it's not about one side getting a large piece of the pie... its about making a larger pie.

And in the end, there are hundreds of millions of adult video game players in the world. If he's lucky, maybe 1% know of his game at this time. The simple idea that Uberpie will destroy his marketshare by working on netorare content, as well as the harem content, is ridiculous. There is a vast, untapped wealth of potential players still out there and as long as Uberpie continues to develop, he will continue to attract fans.

"play testing the game" suuure
For the record,
I'm not writing anything per-essential for the script rn,
I'm writing random interactable dialogues with characters.

A= "Nice weather today isn't it?"
B= "No, it's shit."

I have no idea about how the actual play-testing is going or whatever, not my department.

For additional clarification* I do sometimes get asked to amend things in scripts pretty much at anytime during production. There's no metric for me to know when an update is *out* or close to being out till I'm told otherwise by Uberpie and co. I can literally be altering stuff for them 24 hours prior to a release.
- I did *used* to do play-testing myself, but since the team got increased and jobs got shuffled around, I no longer handle that.

Now that's hot. The weather, that is. ;)

Thanks lostraven. Now get ready for a bunch of people to ask the usual questions.

You come in here just to stir the pot. I know how you do. :ROFLMAO:

I do be curious at how the other guy's writting is going to compare to yours. What if people love his stuff so much you go under?!
