like I said you will probably need to restart... the save method is the ONLY way I know past those bugs, if you don't have one your screwed. and the way it's setup, save aren't transferable (not in anyway I trust)

The Becca/Ball quest has been disjionted forever, you need to wait for a rope the spawn in the smoking area nest to sport ground at the school
I assume since you mention the gym you already found the projector... You can't use the gym until Gerda invites you there, you'll find her outside her house

I would assume the CGs update is simply to make the AI art in line with the AI art being used elsewhere.
In the past, saves of the same version (V x.xxx.x) no matter their bugfix (for example: v0.89.8a to v0.89.8b to v0.89.8c) were compatible.
Saves between different versions (such as v0.85.1 to v0.89.8) are not compatible.

In v1.07.3 in relation to anything prior to it? No. Only Main Route content.
