What do you think it's about? Money. Steam has millions of users willing to pay. But nobody thinks that if it gets on steam, and imagine it gets the attention some games get for rape/noncon/racism.... the game will be blacklisted everywhere and the dev might get doxxed. But greed is more important. Steam not allowing it is a gift.

The steam attempt was after they got kicked off patreon.
Steam didn't accept the game back in January and banned it.
They don't have any intent on leaving subscribestar or itch or dlsite or nutaku.
However with sites having to make sure they follow their own rules, we'll have to see if the game stays on itch or if it gets banned.

Thoughts on the Road Ahead
Hey friends,
Sorry for the radio silence over the last little while. We wanted to let the dust settle after all the recent industry news before posting.
If you’re wondering about my take on it, I’ll keep it very simple: We promised you Season 2, and we are going to deliver Season 2.
In a previous post, I mentioned sharing some behind-the-scenes stories about development. Given the current mood, it doesn't feel like the right time for that. But once things calm down, I still have a ton of nerdy tips and war stories I’d be happy to share in future posts, if you're still interested.
Now, for the good news. We owe you everything for your support, and we’re channeling that directly into our work. Things are getting seriously hot. I know that sounds like a typical developer line, but I’m genuinely excited about the direction we’re heading, and I truly hope you’ll love it too. We're not just aiming to add more scenes, but to enrich the story that connects them. In parallel, our programmer has been working magic on the technical side, making huge improvements and optimizations.
I’m currently overdoing it on the coffee, but that’s just part of the process. For me, the two things that get this project done are caffeine and physical exercise. I’m not a big believer in waiting for a ‘muse’ or ‘inspiration.’ (Unironically, they are wonderful things, but not for the daily grind of a project that lasts for years. And I have huge respect for the opposite approach if it works for you!). For me, it comes down to will and peace of mind. And those two friends help me control and initiate both. Sorry for the philosophical detour, haha.

Once again, thank you for posting Vanhaller, you're a beast. Lovely to see some Becca art, but beyond that just another vague statement about development and "moving things along" that no one can actually verify. But that's par for the course at this point.

Madness that they compromised the unique art style for AI art to speed up development but it still takes an insane amount of time for the updates to come out.
That's all part of the plan. AI art, remake of the whole game, excuses after excuses. They are laughing every day at all the dumb people who are still supporting them.

AI was never meant to speed up anything. And rare is the developer who ever promoted it as such. It is the players who incorrectly assume it. Also, creating a game is more than the art. Finally, Uberpie has yet to admit he uses AI generative art. He still claims that he creates all the art himself. Yes, he is lying.

Hey, pumpkin. You've gotten a lot better at understanding the issue of creating art since we used to argue about it. And now I mostly agree with you. But not completely. Where did he say what he asserts? With quotes and facts, please
I feel like this is a case scenario in which he was forced to be upfront with DLsite. As far as I remember, uber has never spoken about his AI use openly to his supporters on either patreon or SS.

Go back and read his posts... He certainly promotes in his subscriber posts that HE is doing the drawing. And including "partial ai use" is bullshit when nearly - if not every - single art piece in Season 1 Redux is AI generated.
Also, lying by omission is still lying.
And calling me pumpkin doesn't turn me on. Sorry, try it on someone else.

So, let me get this straight: your entire argument - your "proof" that he is lying - is based on the fact that he used the word "drawing" in a post? Am I understanding that correctly? Are you serious?
Alright then. By that logic, did he also lie when he mentioned using Photoshop? Is that not "drawing" either?
Or what about the fact that half of all artists today use references, especially 3D models for scenes and composition? I suppose that's not "drawing" anymore either?
I could go on, but you just keep repeating the "AI-generated" line. Look, buddy, try generating three consecutive frames where everything remains perfectly consistent—the clothing, the faces, and all the character details. AI can't do that yet, and it certainly couldn't back then.
So you still don't get the difference between an artist who just types in a prompt to get a finished image, and one who uses AI partially as a tool to work on specific parts of their art?
You know, you used to write much smarter posts before this. Weren't you one of the first people on this forum to grasp the key idea that AI doesn't drastically speed up the workflow, but is simply another tool that improves quality? How did you stoop to this level?

I am not going to argue with you.
Uberpie uses AI extensively. We see that. We ALL see that. He continues to omit that in any of his posts and, in fact, promotes that HE is doing all the drawing. It's all in his posts. That is lying by omission. He could just admit it and then share all the tribulations and frustrations that come with using it, instead he chooses to lie.
Everyone in this thread can read all of Uberpie's posts for the past 2 years, copied here by Vanheller to see it.
As I have stated many times in this and many threads, I don't care if people use AI to generate the art for their games. It is a tool to be used, just like Photoshop, etc.
People who think developers use it to get done faster are lying to themselves, too. But artists should not promote they are the ones doing all the drawing when they are using AI trained on all they old artwork in order to generate new.
You can reply... But you should know I've already dismissed your opinion many months ago for your absolute inability to be objective when it comes to Uberpie. I give him props when he deserves it and I am critical of him when he deserves that.
We can disagree - but when the data shows you are not only wrong but in denial, you need to evaluate your position.
Enjoy your day and find someone who will read your ravings to worry about.
