I played the old Taffy Tales game before the redux and that was quite awhile back, is this release worth downloading?

Fuck no. Go play the original and pray someone with a similar enough art style picks it up to unfuck this depressing horror story.

It do what patches do. Puts something into the game. In this case, it puts back in the content that Uberpie removed August in the hopes to not get booted off of itch. It's all the same content that was already in there February 2025-July 2025.

Great question. It all depends upon what you want to do.

Do you want to play a version with a lot of content? Go play v0.89.8 "Seasons 1-4" and then v1.07.3 "Season 5" <-- these are both the "in development" versions, not "finished" retail.

If you strictly want a netorare playthrough, play the short completely optional and separate netorare route in v1.07.3 "Season 5" <-- this is the "in development" version, not "finished" retail.

Do you want to see 4k images and video with some additional content added of the first 20% or so of the game, all of it in AI generated art? Play Season 1 Redux. <-- this is the "finished" retail version, nothing more will be added to it. Further Season Redux versions will be separate downloads in the future.

Because of itch's rules, Redux has violating content removed. It is unpatched. If you want the content, download the official patch and install it within the Redux. See instructions in the installation spoiler.

You don't. Although v1.07.3 "Season 5" (not finalized, in-development) comes immediately after the events in v0.89.8 "Seasons 1-4" (not finalized, in-development)... they are standalone. They don't "connect" in the way you are saying.

The official patch doesn't UNLOCK the CG/Scenes, as in "unlock the gallery without playing". The official patch returns content that was removed by the developer in August in the hope to not get booted from itch.

You still have to play the game to see the CG/Scenes.

WARNING: This comes with only the tech support I'm assed to provide. I've tried it on 2 windows machines and it works fine. That's it

SECOND WARNING: Some will appear to be locked unless you install the patches. This is normal and don't message about it you silly goose.

Instructions:

1. Download the patched GameAssembly.dll

The game has gone from MA to PG-13 and another start from the beginning. As of this version, I would not consider buying nor supporting the game.
Need to remove a couple items from GENRE for the current version.

I'm going to bet for awhile, the most numerous question will be "why do I get still get black screens for scenes?"from people who hadn't applied the official patch first.
