AI CG tag is on the header for this thread for a reason.

No for v0.89.8 and before.
Yes for v1.07.3 and everything since then.
What is the best way to play the game and have the most content? Should we download the 1-4 season + season 5 files or just the latest redux link? And what does the patch do? Thanks in advance!

Great question. It all depends upon what you want to do.

Do you want to play a version with a lot of content? Go play v0.89.8 "Seasons 1-4" and then v1.07.3 "Season 5" <-- these are both the "in development" versions, not "finished" retail.

If you strictly want a netorare playthrough, play the short completely optional and separate netorare route in v1.07.3 "Season 5" <-- this is the "in development" version, not "finished" retail.

Do you want to see 4k images and video with some additional content added of the first 20% or so of the game, all of it in AI generated art? Play Season 1 Redux. <-- this is the "finished" retail version, nothing more will be added to it. Further Season Redux versions will be separate downloads in the future.

Because of itch's rules, Redux has violating content removed. It is unpatched. If you want the content, download the official patch and install it within the Redux. See instructions in the installation spoiler.

Thank you for the detailed response. It seems like this is similar to the Summertime Saga situation (two version, older complete version and newer incomplete version). If by going with the original 1-5 season builds, is the story complete or does it end on a cliffhanger?

Yes there is a difference. I mention the differences directly in my quote within post you replied to.

It's your choice if you want to buy the retail but you can download it for free from the first post of this thread.
I think you are misunderstanding my question because you did not explain a a difference between retail and in development, I'm asking for the versions that are in development is there also a retail version of that same set and does it add anything. Not redux but a retail version of season 1-4 and 5

My post specifically answers that question.

But here: in development means rough drafts, works in progress. "Finished" retail means just that .... Final version ready for sale.

If you read any of the recent posts in this thread --- or just read the title, you will see ONLY Season 1 Redux is "finished" for retail and everything else is still in development version.

Is the word Redux that is confusing you? It simply means revisited. As in all the content that was in development for what is being called "Season 1" is being revisited in the finished version for retail sale. And there is some content included in it that had not been seen before.

All the previous content that was in development will get a Redux. Redux IS the retail version.

This is all the way of saying what my previous student comment already said more succinctly.

Patches**
So, I read the notes and it just tells you how to install the patches. not what the patches actually DO.
Is this a decensor patch? incest? age? what kind of patch is it?
DOWNLOAD

Patches**

Season 1-5
I am a bit confused. Is the current download season 6? or did they drop the season paradigm and reworked it into a single download? wait, did it get rebooted? it says "redux" on here
Version: Season 1- 1.1.53 Redux Beta

Oh man that was easy, just had to spend little under an hour reading the last 30 pages of this thread to understand it. This is the order:

1. Seasons 1-4
2. Season 5 (adds optional NTR route)
3. Somewhere around here the dev gets banned off patreon
4. Dev releases redux versions (basically remakes, those are the ones listed first)
5. Redux version has removed scenes (because controversial?), patches adds back those scenes.

Though I'm a fan of searching shit, this info should be at the top of this thread. Else you just end up with people asking the same question over and over and it's not people's fault for not knowing, this thread is just poorly documented
Thanks for clarifying man. This info is surprisingly well hidden.
Do you happen to know which controversial scenes got removed? NTR? rape? incest?

Also, I checked and he still has a patreon up. Did they unban him? I have never seen patreon unban someone before. Oh wait, he was not unbanned, he made a new different patreon page under a different name. Old patreon was "UberPie" new patreon is "UberPieOfficial"

You still aren't understanding the question unfortunately. Not asking anything about Redux at all which shows you still are misunderstanding the point of the question. Oh well

No.

You are the one that doesn't understand.

There are only two sets of this title so far:

1) The in-development set: v0.89.8 and v1.07.3, also known as ""Seasons 1-4" and "Season 5", respectively. These are WORKING DRAFTS that are no longer being worked on at all at this time. They will have nothing further added to them.

2) The retail set, otherwise known as the Redux. The only "Season" so far that has been released is "Season 1" and is called "Season 1 Redux" which is available for retail sale on various sites. It has the starting content from v0.89.8 that is considered "Season 1" plus some new content in it. It is FINISHED. Nothing more will be added to Season 1 Redux.

The developer is currently working on "Season 2 Redux" which will be the next section of content from v0.89.8 that is considered "Season 2" plus some new content on it. Once it is released, it will be available for retail sale on various sites. It will be FINISHED. And nothing more will be added to it.

Then the developer will move onto working on "Season 3 Redux".... And so forth... That is how all content from this point on will be released as finished retail individual seasons that are called REDUXES.

Do you understand now?!

Dude. Then clearly state your question. Because I am under the impression that you don't know what you're asking.

But before you do, review:

This was your question:
The post says in development versions not retail versions, Is there a difference between the two and can you still buy the retail version if it actually adds anything
I answered:
Yes there is a difference. I mention the differences directly in my quote within post you replied to.

It's your choice if you want to buy the retail but you can download it for free from the first post of this thread.
Here is the part of the post you should have read that explains what the experiences are for each version:

As you can see, that post plainly says what the difference is between the versions and what a player can expect.

Retail = Redux

I literally say that the retail version which is the redux version, that you could buy if you want... Or simply download it for free from this site... adds new content, as in content that is not in anything released before.

That answers your initial question directly. Yes you can buy it (or download it free here) and yes it adds never before seen content.

this was genuinely unhelpful. "clear data" what data am I supposed to clear? do I wipe the app? the patch? what?
You skipped the first option shown in the results
You can download the updated patch version from their subscribstar page for free. It's working with this android version for me.
did you try that first?

This, was the second option that you seem not to understand:
it's a patch error, clear data and re-enter
That reads to me as;
Uninstall the patch.
Close taffy tales.
Open taffy tales.
Reinstall the patch.

any idea when'd darnell be fucking mary?
The year is 2030, Taffy Tales Retake: The Fifth Reimagining - Season 1.2 revised version is now available. The story now takes place in a retirement home to avoid any questions about the age of majority, wheelchairs have been reworked by hand after AI criticisms, and the latest release, set to include implied NTR dialogue, has been delayed after concerns as to whether Mary is still compos mentis at that age have led to doubts as to it's suitability for sale on the Apple Store.

Same question here
As has been started many times in this thread:
Anything that Uberpie thought was against itch rules. Then he created an official patch which restores that same content. So nothing is missing if you install the official patch.
