Welp, without Asa, TOD is kinda over. TOD was his idea after all and I feels like he just ditch his programmer and fans of the game in the pit after he's burnout from making a game.
people follow this studio because of Asa art after all, there's no way people will still sub after Asa is gone.

If the programmer took over everything except artwork and let asa do that im sure he wouldnt have left. Idk if asa or the programmer are at fault here especially since from asas departure notice it seems like he did a lot of work

Well patreon did basically neuter the project with their new regulations while the game was still in its infancy.
Kinda hard to stay motivated when you have a vision for something, and have probably been planning it for years before actually getting started and suddenly it gets keelhauled by the platform.

Seems substar just didn't have the user base to completely convert over to that, and leave patreon and its buzzkill rules in the dust.

I also think it's Asa's fault because he wanted to scrap everything at one point because "My art has evolved" but then he later deleted that post, I think it's mostly the "japanese" way of thinking that didn't let him continue with a work he thinks is not that good anymore.

nah, he was simply too ambitious and couldn't finish all the things he planned

Well another example of someone who wants to start off a game and magically explains how it needs to focus on other things and handling over the work to someone else related to the project?

Man these dudes and girls can't commit to finish at least the game before going full hiatus or moving on to other stuff :/ so damn sad!

I'm sure may commit to at least finish that sculpture to sell it for the lols
