I seem to be unable to get the "huge flag" mat for some reason...got any ideas how i can get it?
use nayuta's armor to increase the drop rate. if you still haven't crafted it then you just gotta get lucky. keep doing map quests and hope you get it from the rewards.

Yep, and don't forget to check the shop too, even if it's a bit expensive, to buy just what's needed to craft the armor before to wear it is fine. (the game explains that the best way to earn armor/weapon upgrade parts is to wear the item itself to up the drop rate)

From my experience the 'rare' meterials become more common the further you progress in the game AND the higher your treasure rating is in any given day of the game.
Generally you want to arrive to the boss with max treasure rating so that the fever time (w/e it is called) gives you max drops.

Hyaku Hachi Taimashi no Mu (The spirit of nothingness/infinity of the 108 exorcists), in other words, it's HyaHa TaiMu, not Hyaha Time.
Yeah, it's a stupid pun, but it did manage to take a chuckle out of me.

If there aren't any dark clouds in the map just yet, then you probably need to let a day pass. Killing a boss typically does the trick, though I had this impression in the Japanese version where losing and using the Return Orb thing ends the day too. That latter part is unconfirmed, so take that with a grain of salt.

Once the clouds start appearing, it's just a matter of clearing harder versions of each boss you've encountered so far.

I honestly don't know. I don't remember ever finding an item that increases SP gain my old save file, so I just assumed that it didn't exist. Instead, I just kept increasing the difficulty to get more EXP and farmed skill points that way. The aliens sell things in exchange for SP, but the EXP gain at that point becomes so absurd that you can level up more a few dozen times per fight.

As a side note, you can increase the maximum difficulty of the game by clearing a True Boss (Bosses where the dark clouds gather) on HMD difficulty, though I'm not sure if it's possible before beating the final boss. You can do this about 3 times, I think; From HMD to HMD4.

Here's a pic of the old save, which only(?) has about 48 hours on it, in spite of the bloated numbers. View attachment 5294480
Keep in mind that the game is already over far before this point, and you are under no obligation to spend your time as I did. I remember story events still triggering during this point in the game, though I couldn't really read it at the time without the translations. Maybe these events were tied to difficulty, or maybe they were random, I'm not really sure. I could've accidentally reset the event flags without noticing too, since that becomes an option after beating the game.
Hi. Is setting game difficulty to "HMD" necessary to progress? What specific hard mode boss difficulty is this? I've done all bosses so far. Also I've noticed a location marked as "???" when trying to setup portalets.

HMD is not necessary. Difficulty is just for your personal enjoyment.
If there is a ??? mark, it means that you haven't explored the whole island.
To advance, you have to repeat dungeons until the black mist event triggers. After that, you have to clear the dungeons that have the black mist until you finish the game.
The game has a lot of scenes that you can see if you keep repeating dungeons instead of advancing the story. You can see those scenes even after finishing the game, but they are supossed to be watched before them and watching them after beating the last boss doesn't pack the same punch.

Hi guys, been playing for a bit and cant figure out what controls skill rewards on lvlups,, seen pretty much from 3 to 7 when i keep food on low xp gain it seems to help but not sure same with mobs lvls looks like higher lvls keep skill pts lower... maybe its just pure rng dunno
The total exp bonus of food through combined battles during that level is what controls skill points per level. This can make it tricky to tell since more exp = faster leveling. However, the leeches in the marsh area give very low exp per kill, so you can just use best food and spam fight them if you really want a ton of skill points. I reached 22 in one level with a ton of ~400% exp bonus food at one point. It honestly wasn't worth the effort.

Each level gives a (small) base amount of Skill Points before any food bonuses. So you're probably better off just fighting against normal mobs, since mobs don't level up till you kill bosses anyways.

A few alternatives:
1.) The exorcist trio gives 3x "quest rewards" when you defeat them, it is possible for 1 or 2 of those 3 rewards to be all skill points. So you can save scum before fighting if you're hard up for skill points. I'm not sure whether or not the Jizo's Chips statue effects amounts, but i just use it anyways when I do this. Note: it's possible for other quest rewards to give skill points, but it seems like current quest reward drop may be locked in before you do a quest. The exorcist trio bypasses this by technically having 3 drops, of which only the 1st seems locked in.
2.) Safes have a low chance of skill point drops, the quantity is small though. can still save scum it. The other type of chest that looks like suitcases? has a chance as well, the quantity/chance is even lower though. Can't recall if cardboard boxes dropped 'em, but I've definitely never seen 'em from trash bags.
3.) There is a (very small) chance for the island store to sell skill points, but I've only seen it available once so far and i had limited cash at that point, could only afford 10.

Any idea where the weapons that use Ax-head, Iron Stakes and Blue Steel are? can't find them anywhere...
All of them comes when you raise the level of the villagers.
Ax-head and Iron Stakes are mats for weapons given by Ichirou while Blue Steel is a mat for a weapon you can buy from Iku.

This game is a fucking joke. Each map is interrupted by constant talking about some bs. Road collapsed with obvious path around it? Lets talk about it! Entered any kind of open area? Lets talk about it! Arrived at a crossroad? Lets talk about it! New enemy shows up? Lets talk about it! Used new skill? Lets talk about it. Found new item? Lets talk about it. Each fucking thing has it own dialogue.

Is there any kind of teleportation ability? I went to Lighthouse, realised that boss is a bit too strong for me, now I would like to back to village and upgrade my sword, but walking all the way back would be a pain, even lighthouse's staircase is fucking massive.

Game seems good overall, but yep, excessive dialogs and mapdesign is annoying.

You have an item in your pouch, it's called return crystal. (use it wisely as your treasure rank is reset each time you return to the city)

There are 2.
The first one is the return crystal that you can use from your items.
The second one are the portable toilet that you unlock if you talk to the masked hentai. You unlock more toilets if you unlock more critical h-scenes.

Love this game. I played the DL site version and text hooked and google translated it. So finding a version where I can actually follow along the story sounds great.
