I finished playing season 1 around when season 2 episode 16 or 17 was in development iirc. Did the version I have then already include the 0.12b update? Cause if not, I guess i'll be reinstalling season 1 again unfortunately

Development Update #114

Just in time for the weekend! I've been back from my holiday for a while now. Nice opportunity to recharge the batteries. Apart from the required sight-seeing, I managed to read a lot and also got a little writing done for Episode 21.

As soon as I got back I resumed working on Episode 20. The script has now been sent to my proofreaders and I'm putting the last touches on the renders. Everything is ready for a release this month, it just a question of when during the coming weeks. I'll keep you updated.

I've also put some thought into the whole Patreon suspension situation from earlier this year. As mentioned before I've worked on my own platform which is basically ready to go, but securing a payment processor is an unexpected hurdle (see and for more context). The most promising lead gave a sign of life well over a month ago, but has since gone quiet. Securing another partner would mean writing code to handle payments instead of using a stock solution and I simply lack the time at the moment.

So the alternate platform is forced on the backburner for now, which is worrying me a bit. I have currently one active project here on Patreon and if the banhammer strikes again for some reason it might be a complete account ban this time, which is less than ideal.

Adding another project might be a solution. So I'm thinking of creating a short game to diversify and have something to fall back on should disaster strike. The additional project would be put hold immediately after releasing the first episode, so that I can continue to focus on completely TFTUV. This is all dependent on my workload for the coming months and I certainly don't want to take five months again for the next episode of TFTUV beyond Episode 20. So I guess I'll keep you posted on this.

It may be time to start asking his suporters to migrate to subscriberstar to avoid a huge hit to his income if p@tr3on decides to do some shit again.

Only that Subscriberstar isn't without any issue. Eg. no paypal is an issue to a few. Also they have the almost same TOS regarding , so...

It's interesting that unlike Patreon, SubscribeStar doesn't define what they consider incest, leaving it a bit more open to interpretation.

In either case, it's probably worth remembering that Patreon really only started cracking down on it because their payment processors pressured them to do so. SubscribeStar probably isn't immune to this either depending on who their payment processors are, but may not be attracting as much attention, at least for now.

Edit: I get a bit of a kick out of Patreon's guidelines regarding incest also.

So no fictional incest between blood relatives or immediate family... unless it's a "plot point" of a "larger narrative." Totally nothing arbitrary about this permitted exception. :cautious:

Subscribestar does not use paypal, so there is less danger of them starting a witch hunt over it. After all it was this payment processor corp that forced p@tr3on's hand.

I thought this was the case, but couldn't remember for sure if it was PayPal or one of the other payment processors that really pushed them.

why did paypal decide they would be arbiter of morality in media?
Simply put, it's primarily a business, liability, and public image decision.

On the business side, the adult entertainment industry has a relatively high charge-back rate on things like credit cards. Essentially, imagine some conservative minister or sometime signs up to some kink site without their wife knowing. Those charges will show up on your card. Usually it's changed to look innocuous, but if it's brought up they might deny signing up. "Honestly honey, I have no idea how 'Backdoor Sluts 9' showed up on our card! It must be fraud!"

So then they're calling the card or payment processor and requesting a charge-back because the charge is clearly fraudulent. They're a moral God-fearing family, not deviants! So the company issues a charge-back because it's not worth the effort or business risk to argue with the customer.

Now for a number of reasons, most adult sites use third-party payment processors. It costs the third -party processor money each time they issue a charge-back between the customer and credit card companies. Also, if they accumulate too many of them, the actual card companies like VISA might suspend their merchant agreement. So instead the third-party payment processor like PayPal or Stripe limit what content is allowed for their payments to lower-risk content both to reduce costs and reduce the risk of their agreement being suspended.

From the liability standpoint, payment processors can be potentially found legally liable if the content is illegal in the jurisdiction of the customer. And the type of content that is legal can vary wildly on an international scale. As such, some companies that operate in many jurisdictions effectively limit their content based on the most restrictive laws rather than take the time, effort, and cost to tailor their content policy to each jurisdiction and verify the location of each customer.

Lastly, from a public image perspective, being seen socially as supporting "immoral" content and industries is bad for their stock holders and bottom line. And I'm sure many high-up people at these payment or credit card companies don't want their neighbors or family to see them as working at an immoral company either. So there's further pushback there.

TL;DR: PayPal's decision is almost wholly driven by money and not wanting to anger or have legal trouble from even the most prudish corners of society.

Anyways, rant over.

TL;DR:

Financing international terrorism is cool.
Financing incest in fictional settings is not cool.
Pretty much. I guess there's fewer charge-backs from international terrorists? :cautious:

Edit: I mostly joke. Honestly, it's more likely that people making fictional incest porn care about their livelihoods more so don't take the same risks by doing things outside guidelines.
