I enjoy the game quite a bit and I would've supported it on Patreon if not for their "per creation" pricing - that's basically like giving someone an authorization to charge my credit card whenever they want which is not something I am particularly comfortable with. Also, I would prefer the devs to focus a bit more on adding art to already existing sex scenes since many of them are just text rn.
You can set a monthly maximum on the pledge. We set it as that originally because it let people decide how much they wanted to incentivize more work, because people were calling monthly Patreon campaigns "a scam" because patrons would get charged regardless of how much work was put out, if any, and particularly for games, creators would get accused of "milking it". This is before we were working on ToA when our Patreon was just for art and stories. We wanted to make sure we were only charging patrons when we actually put out work, and we structured the weekly updates so that we had to show proof of work on a consistent basis, and now because of that decision, we get called scam artists.

Patreon now lets a creator pause their campaign so as to not charge patrons during the pause, so we'll eventually be switching over to a monthly campaign just to never have to explain this again.

Oh, I didn't realize it worked like that... I was under impression that I would be charged whenever the creator publishes a work, which made me sort of uncomfortable. But it was never my intent to accuse you of scum or anything - as I already stated I really enjoyed the game, so keep it up.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that you did. It's just come up a few times in that context.

Yeah. I'm just comparing their monthly income with the changelog. When seeing the changelog its just not justifying 20.000$ - or whatever they make monthly. They can easily hire artists and animators with that amount of money and speed up the process dramatically. Just as I said, I guess they just want to stretch the development time as long as possible at this point.

Not hating on the game, just on the management ;)
How about you leave your couch and try your hand at developing a game for a couple years, then you can come back and tell us how it is easy to do it.

I actually studied 3D Game Design & Animation (Course) as well as have personal experience messing around with creating ETC i even helped with development of a game during my time where i studied and it is far from easy anyone who thinks otherwise has no idea just how much work coding as well as visual can take let alone the mental aspect of such

Not to mention the time allocation for the development either art or writing and the time that leaves or allows for a "normal" job, while you may look at patron and see it as a kickstarter-esque website thats not the case for some developers. Look at a twitch streamer you think all the money donated to that person goes directly back into the stream? One of the ideas behind the creation of patreon was that you fans could directly fund a creator giving them more free time to work on projects that they are dedicated too.
The amount of content produced for ToA far exceeds a lot of the games in this genre, and does with a more concrete structure so as not to take advantage of their fans/supporters *cough cough koda*

If you want an example of money invested not reflecting content ask a tower of trample fan the people who still support them on patreon have brains that work... differently. But even saying that you cant look at as a direct exchange of "I put X amount of money in so I get X amount of content out" like some sort of dystopian human vending machine.

Yes this can't be said enough, on patreon you are helping support game development (in this case) not buying for a product.

Other actual examples of milking would be devs like Gumdrop who are still accepting support without showing and releasing anything for about a year.

I actually did - with a small team. Took three years. We were on kickstarter and we planned a 2.000€ salary per person/month. Everything went well, the game was released and the players are happy. It's a 2D action RPG :)

But back to topic, sorry for derailing this so hard.

Hey, I'm kinda new here, does anyone knows how to trigger this scene? (can't post the file, don't remember why, maybe it's because I don't have enough posts?)
The file image is called LewdOrder and it was inside the character folder inside the java file.

I think there are things that are objectively lackluster relative to the money regarding content progress but it is what they've been able to charge the people willing to pay so that's on their supporters not them.

I don't think it's fair to compare this game to most on-going western porn game devs because they all have a huge incentive to be lazy and milk people for patreon bux as going out of their way to finish a game can be a net negative if they don't have the drive and support to develop a second game with as much success.

Just because most porn devs often turn grubby in the long run doesn't mean it's the standard to accept or in any way the correct way to go about business, just an unfortunate reality of supply and demand as long as the western porn game niche remains a small dev kind of genre where they don't have anyone breathing down their necks to actually deliver a complete product, we've already seen just how much shit patreon supporters of various projects are willing to eat every month in games that are way more starved for updates than this one *cough*Rannero*cough*.

For me personally, all my problems I have with this game could be solved by a single chat option when you start a new save that says "Ye so the protagonist is actually a girl"(Or rather futa I guess, since there would still be a dick). No art changes, no nothing, just the one single chat option that literally changes nothing, not even the way the char get's called ingame for all i care, other than the character is a girl in your head-canon. Because this game, the art in it and basically everything is top-notch. But I'm just not into thinking/seeing about guys getting buttfucked.

that has to do with the cultist, two or three stages involved you will run into them in one of the second maps,

One of the scenes is only possible if you are an anal virgin up to that point with the cultists.
Thanks! I was trying to trigger that scene for a while and I forgot that some scenes you had to be anal virgin
