Works of fantasy (and sci-fi too) are some of the biggest when it comes to social/cultural/political allegory. The Dark Knight graphic novel is full of allegories (some far from subtle), same with Star Wars, The Expanse, Lord of the Rings and etcetera.
Great and none of that contradicts what I said, which was that not every single work of fantasy
has to contain modern socio-political commentary on every single topic. Some might not contain any at all. Maybe the Mimic Chest doesn't need to be scathing commentary about the IRS after all; maybe the lush forest setting early on isn't a plea to prevent further climate change; and maybe, just maybe, the presence of various species of fantasy feminine creatures with big dicks isn't social activism but purely so they can fuck you in the ass in this fetish porn game.
