how do i download that file? cause clicking on it just takes me to the text (also unrelated but how do you beat the ghost in story mode i've been stuck on her for literally days and i'm almost about to give up on story mode)

This, or just copy the contents inside and replace the stuff inside your profile.json with the ones you find inside that profile.txt (like i already said).
You need to use spells against ghost lady, because she's incorporeal so you cannot use physical attacks against her.
yeah i know that but i can only use the spell that damages her once and i don't know how to use it more times
If you run out of mana, you'd have to have the focus energy ability to regain some.
If not, you need to use "Incantation" skill to enter the state where you can use spells.
I don't remember off the top of my head where you could get the focus energy in storymode or if there's another way, it's been awhile since i've played through it (around the time evoker was introduced).

for some reason after i paste the content in the profile.json and open the game, the file reverts back to normal and doesn't unlock anyhing. I even put it in the profile backup but nothing
Did you save the changes?
I dunno what could be causing it if you have, but here's the .json inside a .zip, unzip it and replace the old one with it.

Criticism for this game:
I don't care about hardlocking content if it's just for a small branch that will have its own ending, but stuff like Kylira should never happen imo, why do you hard lock content between joining the party or working at the brothel? There should be an option to do both.
Hell, while you are it add an option to have Trudy work at the brothel as well!

Imo this is not an issue but ofcourse it would be quality of life to add something like that, I think of this as a rogue like/lite so I never play the same save file cause being too strong is no fun. so hard locking Kylira by making the "wrong" choice should only be possible to do on the first run and then you know not to make that mistake if you want Kylira in your party.
But I do see your point since not all people have the time or want to play the game multiple times. So to me a better fix would be to allow you to reset party members to before you talked to them with cheat mode, that way if you were to make a mistake on your first play through and don't want to start a new save, you won't have to. ofc theres always ways to edit the save file to do it. but it would be nice to have it as an option in game.
No clue if they've abandoned this, but the original intent was for ToA to be replayable i.e multiple runs, in that sense hardlocked paths/routes makes a bit more sense.
