For now, you can just try your best to proceed the furthest you can.
As for the combat, it is a bit difficult to explain, but know that you have Stances. Each stance can get you different benefits, as well as unlock different combos (and sexual assaults). The best way to identify what stances do is to check your skills.
As for the skills, I strongly suggest you focus on one thing. For example, my first build was a strength build and invested heavily in it. One more note: you can always choose what to be sexual-wise: a bottom or a top. It's difficult to be a top for new players due to not knowing events/mechanics, but it's possible after you play like an hour or two (just be sure to save a lot).
And yeah, experiment with everything, save often, focus on one type of build and that's it. Game is pretty fun
