All of this is optional, and left up to the Player - we've designed the game as a sandbox.

Conversations can be progressed to a certain point, left, then returned to again later.

We've just uploaded the latest version of the game to Itch.io - there's about 6-7 hours of content in there!

It's good for anyone who's interested in supporting us, but doesn't like recurring memberships (like Patreon).

Buying the game also comes with free updates every time we release one, a la Steam's early access.

Here's one of the sex scenes exactly how it appears in-game... the originals are in 1920x1080 resolution.
After getting feedback from players about Build#1, we switched to full-screen lewd images in 16:9 aspect ratio.
We also slimmed down the text-box, and made it look more like a standard visual novel (many people asked for this).

Lewds didn't make the cut for the Build#2 Beta because we want to leave something for its full release...
And looking back now it was the right decision - there's already too much stuff to test and bug-fix even without them.
Our scripter is also adding CYOA functionality to the sex scenes, to make them more branch-y like the intro with Meredith.

Here's an early prototype of the new exterior map the art team is working on...

The large white and pink blots are placeholders for custom landmarks that will be inserted when finished.

Once it's done, this map will be accessible from the intro area that's directly above it. You'll be able to travel back-and-forth!

Many quests will send your MC to other areas. ToLLA has free-roam, allowing you to explore the world at your own pace.

We actually have multiple zones planned, and new areas will be added to the game as we complete their art and content.

The area art is still a work in progress (it's missing things like shadows and finishing decals), but it's looking good already.

This zone is located south of the intro area, and the two are linked (you'll be able to travel back and forth freely).

Free roam is one of the game's main pillars, and we plan to deliver on that front with multiple explorable maps!

Aww, I thought the story book style was great for the scenes, but I guess that vertical aspect ratio could be a bit limiting for the art compared to 16:9.

Anyways, do you think it might be possible for font options? Maybe I'm an old man or maybe my laptop screen is too small, but I have a hard time reading this from the distance I usually keep the screen. It might be a combination of the font size and the font (seems to be very squished together).

You get the girl in the first few minutes of gameplay. No chase, no seduction. She's handed to you on a silver platter, without the male character having to do any work, without having to seduce her or anything. Then afterwards you're bombarded with walls and walls of text with no more sexual content.

Nah, it has nothing to do with aspect ratios or art limits, it's just that people kept complaining, so we changed it. As the game's writer, I too loved the Storybook setup... but we got a lot of feedback saying the lewds were too small in comparison to everything else. Everyone's used to visual novels where the images take up most of the screen, so I understand why the Storybook UI may have seemed a bit claustrophobic. And it was a bit too much, even for a text-heavy game. We went through multiple UI mockups for the lewd scenes, and finally settled on something that resembles a visual novel. I was hoping to add more text-based erotica, but it seems players are OK with that only if the game has no art and relies fully on text - once you start adding lewd pictures, nobody wants to read anymore! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I don't think we can change fonts on the fly. Don't quote me on this because my knowledge of scripting is limited to basic algebra, but I remember our scripter mentioning the fonts were locked a while back. The main reason I recall is due to how much of a balancing act the entire dialogue UI turned out to be - we had to customize the whole thing, and making it any bigger tends to swallow up the screen to the point it looks claustrophobic... it's basically the Storybook problem all over again - make it too small and people can't read it, make it too big and everyone complains that it takes up too much visual real estate. There were also problems with various fonts 'bleeding through' the dialogue box borders, which looked really bad. So much work went into getting everything aligned and working properly, it really was a pain in the ass to get it to function like we wanted. I think the current font was picked because it looks OK and still works within the confines of the game's scripting and our custom dialogue boxes.

One tip I can give you if you're having trouble reading it is to hook up your laptop to a bigscreen TV! That way you can easily see every detail, and the game still looks sharp since all the art is made for 1920x1080 resolutions.

The giant formation is made of viridian crystals, and these play a large part in the game's story and lore.

'Sup everybody, we released a patch and content update for the game today: Build#2-A

The new version is up for Patrons here:

Apart from fixing a couple of bugs and tweaking a few scripts, it brings Save/Load functionality to ToLLA - this is now accessible via the floppy disk icon right next to Captain Hale's cabin in the intro area. There's 24 individual slots to make use of, which should be more than enough for anyone's savescumming needs! :LOL:

We've also added a huge exterior map that links to the intro zone, and can be visited after completing the main story content in the starting area. You can walk around the new map, explore its landmarks, harvest resources, and read some of the lore popups. We'll be adding more story content in future updates. The area took a while to finish (and was a huge pain in the ass to properly set up all the pathing/collisions due to its geometry), but it's finally done and it looks great!

There's no new lewds in this release - that's coming with the next content update!

Build#2-A Changelog:
  • added saving functionality to the game via a persistent sepia icon (the first of which is located right outside Hale's cabin)
  • extended the duration of all loot infoboxes by +0.5 seconds (for a total of 4.5 seconds... should be easier to read now!)
  • realigned the Hale & Meredith banter messages in the intro area, and extended their individual durations by ~45 frames
  • increased the banter triggers from 1 tile to a square area (2x2, 3x3, 4x4, etc.), making them easier to trip and trigger
  • added a new map (Southern Wildlands) accessible from the intro area... it opens up after the second talk with Meredith!
  • completed the pathing map for the newest area (collision detection, occlusion, etc.), and populated it with interaction icons
  • added 5 new NPC miniatures into the game (their banter strings are currently WIP, will be added after all 2500+ are finished)

Somewhat, but not in a strict sense. There's a ton of reading and lots of text, but also true sandbox elements like free-roam and branching dialogue which alters quest outcomes. I guess the best way to describe what we're trying to do with ToLLA is to label the game as a narrative-heavy erotic RPG.

how to access the lewd gallery? cant seem to find the lewd lorekeeper
Sorry for not answering you earlier, I didn't even see your question. :oops:

The Lewd Lorekeeper is in the Fort HQ building, but that location and the map it's in isn't in the released version of the game, it's still part of the test build. Which means you can't access the Gallery yet. It'll come out once we get a few more scenes released and the map itself is connected to the rest of the areas currently in the game.

funny enough , the game has a great art and might actually become a fun RPG to play and not just for the snu snu. just needs a good combat mechanics and engaging story with it's development . :ROFLMAO:
