Thanks for the feedback. I'll freely admit that Talothral was an inspiration for me to start thinking about a VN. I played Sorcerer and got hooked on the media presentation as a way to tell a story I wanted to tell. I'm still learning the ins and outs of Daz Rendering and Renpy, so I hope I'll get better at that aspectStill playing this at the moment, but just wanted to say, damn good job on this one. This is a beefy first release and so far, it hasn't disappointed.
This has the feeling like a Talothral game. Full of lore and well-thought-out dialogues. Sure, renders may be a bit on the weaker side, but it definitely doesn't detract from the storytelling. No choices so far, but I wouldn't expect any at the moment from what I've played. It's a lot of build up right now and the MC hasn't even shown up yet. So, a lot of lore building and background setup.
The group just made it to the Inn in Oakhaven, so not sure how much further I have to go for this release but definitely enjoying what I have played so far. Just again, very nice work on this. Seriously. Looking forward to the rest and what more you add to it. Best of luck and thanks.
EDIT: Just finished it, and like the rest, it was great. Awesome job. Thanks again.
Yep that was the look I was going for
Thanks for the feedback. I did add future tags to the post. Thx again.Hi, you should include future tags in the "Genre" so that people know what to expect, and it will cause less annoyance from all sides when you tell your story.![]()
never hesitateIt takes everything in me to not make a Galadriel joke
"There is a Tempest in me" is the low hanging fruit I was going for from the series we don't talk aboutnever hesitate
Why did Galadriel stop hosting parties in Lothlórien? Because every time a guest looked into her eyes, they ended up seeing their deepest fears and regrets, and it really killed the mood.
How does Galadriel know the name of every single star in the night sky? She was there when they were assigned.

Since it's just me handling the entire Story/Daz3D/Ren'Py pipeline, I can't promise monthly releases—that's a burnout trap! You can generally expect a substantial new chapter or major update every two to three months. I'll always post smaller art and dev updates onFinished this prologue.. and it was very interesting to see how they influenced history. What will be your update schedule in terms of quality?
Thank you so much for this review and the high recommendation! I honestly can't tell you what that means to a solo dev. You perfectly understood the intent: the prologue was deliberately focused on intense lore and backstory setup, and hearing you call the storytelling exceptional is the highest praise. I'm taking your technical criticism (the text box transparency and font outline) to heart—that's a great, actionable fix that I'll deploy in an update immediately. Thank you for making this game better and for your fantastic support! I definitely realize that I have more work to do on my rendering and animations. I'm restricted somewhat on my rig set (working with what I gotI have to be honest. It's not the best graphic art, but it's not bad. The animations are pretty basic, but damn, what a story! The writing is excellent! You may get some complaints that it's a bit verbose. Ignore them! The story telling is exceptional! I will recommend it highly! I'd recommend you make a few signatures. It's one of the best ways to attract more folks to your title. My only criticism is the semi-transparent text box. Put a black outline around the text and do away with the text box or make it 100% transparent. The text will stand out just fine and the dark box won't detract from the view of the renders.
The prologue is an excellently crafted backstory and I can't wait to begin the adventure in the next update!
10/10 on the story.
I think the second line is less a joke and more just the lore for the elves in LotR,never hesitate

Thanks for the information on compression. Unfortunately I have to make some changes to my script files to use the different image types. I'm currently working on going with webp format since it takes less changes. I'll add the compressed files to the downloads when I get done with them and have a chance to test through them.Lone Hermit Congratulation on your first release! Good luck!

No need to do it for this version. Its just a tip. As the size can get outta hand pretty quick. Thanks for the information on compression. Yeah just a quick test keeping the quality at 95% the size reduction is from 2.9 GB to 877 MB. I don't think I'll do it for this release but will definitely add the compression downloads for the next update. No need to do it for this version. Its just a tip. (and even a lighter compression Original PNGs -> 97% webps, will safe a ton already)
If ya compare the 2 qualities, you might not even need to add the full sized one tbh. If ya chose to add both then best not to say its a "compressed" version but instead something like.Yeah just a quick test keeping the quality at 95% the size reduction is from 2.9 GB to 877 MB. Yeah, while my renders are not the top of the line, some would (and have) said basic, I do worry about quality loss. I'll definitely take some time and experiment with compression as I work through the next update. "Original" and "webp Version". Compressed here is usually associated with sometimes visible quality reduction (like the one I did 80% img quality)
Hah, solo dev, excellent story, two to three months for substantial content. LOL. There are VNs with almost no story, at least an artist and writer/coder working together that don't produce updates more than once every 6 months. Pull off your timeline and you will be doing better than 60-80% of devs here. Good luck!
