The kids refer to the mom by her name. What kind of incest patch is this? We need a better Ipatch. It would also be nice to have a patch to rename the other family characters too.

Not calling her by name always felt "try hard" to me.
Like, you are going over the top to remind the player she is the mother with every sentence.

I personally prefer the ipatch to call the mom by her name most of the time. While still acknowledging the incest via other dialog. (ex: "we can't do this, I am your mother!")

The only time it would even remotely make sense to call your mom by her name is if you weren't raised by her, or you grew up not liking her in the first place. But, no kid, loving their mother would address her by her name. That's disrespectful, IMO.

Never played the game before, so after applying the patch I just started the game, and got the results I mentioned. I did put the patch in the game folder. That is correct, right?

Yes, merging the game folders should work, I've not had this complaint before, you might have done something wrong, unless others just haven't mentioned it to me

I think I get that as well, but, in conversation with the mom, he calls her by her name instead of mom, right? Which in my humble opinion is wrong, unless he doesn't have a parent/son relationship. The girls, also call her by her name. That's a fucked up family, lol.

I can't tell you what went wrong, but something did. MC should be calling her Mom with the patch.

I finished the update a while ago, and didn't think too much about it until I saw their posts. I went back to the game to get screenshots, but it was somehow fixed, and they now called her "Mom." All I did was move the game to a different folder on my PC. Again, weird.

Were you using an old save? I had a lot of problems trying to play with old saves this update, I had to start a new one. Other than that I can't think of what it was.

Don't remember if I restarted this playthrough, or the one before. It's been almost a month since I finished the update, after all.

I'm gonna start a new game again, and if it is still wrong. I'll delete it and load a new game and a new patch and start a new game. Hopefully, that will do it.

Patch has been retrofitted by me, and should work with no problems.

Requires new save for character names to work correctly.

I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think I'm running into an issue only when using this patch. Whenever I quit out of the game, open it again, and try to load my save I'll either

A) have my game loading but from quite a few scenes back and with no ability to "skip seen dialogue" as if it has forgotten I've already played that part

or

B) I get a traceback error. I'll include that error in a spoiler tag to not take up a large amount of comment space for those scrolling by

I think its probably to do with line endings being different on windows machines and mac machines. (basically line numbers being different depending on Operating System). I don't think I can fix this. However, you might. since you have a mac.


The way that might fix it: open the files you've downloaded in an IDE thats supported on mac, Xcode i think. and then just save and go to the next. repeat for all files

it might fix it, it might not, I'm not sure since I don't have mac. Sorry for problems
