It is me. I've returned for another progress update!

Last progress update, I mentioned that I didn't really know what to write here, and a lot of suggestions and questions were given, so I'll do my best to answer some of them here. Treat this as a one off special :)

This post might be ultra yappy. We'll see how it goes.
TLDR (It was extremely yappy)

Q: Do you keep in mind the "lewd" versus the "plot" ration in mind? How do you decide how much of each there will be for any given update?

A: It's always on the mind. Starting and continuing; I've always wanted a 50/50 split in terms of story and lewd scenes. However, sometimes that's just not possible. So some segments will be more story than lewd and vice versa, but the general idea is to try and keep a happy medium.

Q: What's the hardest and most time consuming part of each chapter cycle in your mind?

A: Rendering & Animation. Making the art for the game is extremely time consuming, especially since when I started, I didn't research anything, I didn't learn anything beforehand. I learnt all I know as I was making it. Now I'm at a point where I feel my art is pretty good, but at the expense of time. Making scenes, posing characters, lighting, animations... It's a lot. One Animation could take days, depending on the complexity. It's a lot to get right. Imposter syndrome is a bitch. "Is this good enough" "Does this look as good as it could"; It's a never ending battle, but I get there in the end, and I think it looks and is presented pretty well.

A: Honestly, quite a lot. But I don't necessarily make things myself. I have no idea how that works, but I commission the work from various modders / porters for the platform. Let me give you an example: If many of you play games like That New Teacher, or especially know about the engine I use to make the art, a lot of games don't do doorway scenes, or show doorway transitions. This is because the environments are pre-defined environments that I edit to fit my needs. But beyond a door? That's just the endless void. So, I commission a lot of things to get doorways and doors going to places, like Bill & Sadie's house. That corridor leading to their apartment I commissioned to make that possible. The boutique where Roxanne work's at, that's commissioned, the train in 0.6 where two trains are connected, that's a commissioned piece of tech, etc etc. You get the idea.

Q: Do this ABC Cameo from XYZ Game?

Cameos are something I very much enjoy. I feel It brings the community closer, bringing other developers up at the same time. It's my way of giving back, I guess. But, I'm not asking these developers at gunpoint haha. A cameo will only happen if the other developer agrees. That's all there really is to it, two way street. But, It's always fun. So we'll see what the future holds.

There were some other recommendations about who's going to be featured in an update, and render / word / animation counts for each progress update. But I won't be doing that. I feel like it sets an expectation if that were posted. "You did 10000 renders last update, but only 500 this time? Slacker!" I don't think it's a healthy thing to do, for all of us. Who's going to be featured sounds cool, but I also like it all to be a surprise, I think that's fun. The supporting patrons get their sneak peeks, and you might be able to infer what's going to happen with who, but I don't want to explicitly go out and say it. Since you've read this far, I will be nice. I mean, like always; I'm super nice. So I can say where I'm currently at with 0.7. So far there is 21,000 words, 800 renders and 20 animations. There are 3 scenes left to render out, but these scenes are quite long. Sometimes life, work and more life gets in the way of these things, but progress is progress. Thank you to everyone for your continued support, it means so much, but I think I've said that numerous times before. And it for sure doesn't mean I won't say it more in the future.

Curious about how much these commissions usually cost, and how long they take to get done

This game is definitely doing a good job advertising other games what a shame that so far its a 50% chance for the game to already be abandoned when I look it up.

What? Where did you get that statistic from? There was literally just an update from the dev like a yesterday

This was my major "concern" when I made my last feedback, since I didn't want to sound "ludicrous". I understand the implications of what I asked, but at the same time, it felt a bit off that the game plot is around "corrupting a school", while the amount of charactes is less than 2 classrooms.

Again, I'm not complaning to the dev itself, because I love the game so far, and most, if not all girls so far are extremely likeable, which is quite an hard achievement with so many characters already, but I just mentioned it before in terms of "plot believability", even if it is a porn game. If the plot at start was mostly around corrupting 1/2 classrooms and not a school I wouldn't have mentioned it before.

Still, thanks again to the dev for the feedback, again, I'm not trying to bitch around, I just try to give my 2 cents when I like something, otherwise I just tend to ignore. My intention was never to overload the dev with work, just wanted to compare it with the initial plot and premise. Looking forward for the next release, and good luck with the rest of the development.

Do you guys see any info on this thread? With all due respect, learn to use the search option. The last info avaiable is literaly on the previous page.

Sorry for being blunt, I understand when a thread has several pages is tiresome to see, I get that, but the info you guys ask is literally 1 page before. Not to mention that there's no need for 2 persons to ask the exact same thing in a row.

But I'm special, my mommy told me so and she had me tested, so can't you just give me the info???

I wonder what is making it do that vs other I-patches that don't do that. Either way thanks for the tips! I've never messed with an IDE so I'll have to look into that a bit more
Were you able to get it working? I've also never had this issue with other patches on a Mac, I tried doing the solution regarding the line numbers but my saves are still broken with the patch.

I never got it working either sorry! Although I haven't tried again since 5.0 as I've been busy so was just gonna wait till 7.0 to try again. Hopefully someone smarter than I can figure out how to get it to work on mac

Hey hey! Progress report time!

A lot of work has been done in the past 14 days! We're nearly there on the rendering side. I have to finish off this current scene scene I'm doing and then one more after it. A couple animations left to do too.

Although, I'm also going to be adding a sort of "after credits" scene that I forgot to include in my plan, but it's quite small so shouldn't take too long.

I have also decided that I'm going to add Photos to previous updates. I didn't do this originally because the phone system is only accessible from 0.5 onwards, but looking back, there is no reason to not have unlockable photos throughout the first 3/4 of the game as of now, so when 0.7 drops you'll have a lot more photos to go hunt down! (No more hidden ones, maybe...)

Another thing I'm going to go back and fix is Stella's audio from the glory hole scene. I hate it. so I'm going to make it better, but that's a quick job to do too.

There are also a plethora of small issues to solve. The list of little tid-bits to do is quite large, so that'll be fun to tackle. Not to mention that my version of HS2 is actually broken beyond repair. So many bugs I have to battle with every day. Though, it's to be expected... It's nearly 2 years old and I've ran it into the ground with adding mods, items left, right and center. It's become very unstable and honestly a pain in the ass to work with. So... I've decided to update. Fresh start. I've installed the latest version of hs2 and it's much better to work in now, there is one issue that's still plaguing me but I'm hoping I can solve it, because it's mighty annoying. Anyway I'm rambling, I don't really have anything meaningful to say beyond this point, so if you've read this far, you're a real one.
