My most recent saves seem to crash the game but the a bit older ones seem to work just fine... Oh well, I guess it's time to replay this masterpiece.

"How to install:
Drag "game" folder into root. if it asks to replace files, do it"

I don't know what "root" is. Usually you just put stuff like this in the game folder and it works fine, But I got an error when I did that, so I'm guessing "root" is something else that I don't understand yet. Could someone take a moment to tell me where or what I'm supposed to do with this patch? Also, could someone tell me what "root" is please?

I know I come across like a total airhead on these forums, but it's just computer stuff I don't get.

In this case, the folder where the game's exe file is.

root means the place where you unzipped the game inside of that folder is a file named game put the mod files inside it

in the future. can you use "ipatch v0.8.0.zip" or something similarly innocuous as the file name?
in case mega scans for sus file names.

It is. The quality bump is visible and the Nova scene (I'll treat is as one, as the divide onto two different scenes in the gallery is artificial) is surprisingly great.

However, there isn't that much content given the fact that the dev worked 10 months on this update.
