I had to do a fresh install PLUS get rid of all my saves in the Renpy and start over. If you look at some earlier posts over the last 1 or 2 pages, you'll see more talk about it.
You probably spanked her too much in the previous scene. If you spank her too much (20 or more times) then she will not misbehave anymore. But you need her to misbehave.
Yup. I never do more than 12, because I personally think that's overkill anything above that.
Kinda funny, too, because the MC spanks her 19 times, Nova makes a comment about it, and the MC smacks her again (she even asks why he spanked her once more). So technically, he spanks her 20 times anyway; it's just not counted in the total when the check is made.
I went for 13, since it is a nice number. But the game also tells you that more than 20 is too much, since the MC says it multiple times afterwards and Clarissa and Suzie tell him as well that it was too much.
I have never used MacOS (at least not in recent decades), but based on what I know about Ren'Py I would expect it's not a programming problem but a problem with access rights or (lack of) existence of folders. Maybe look for a folder called "saves" in another recent Ren'Py game, and then check whether it also exists in this one, in the same location and with at least the same access rights.
