I only read up to the long journey in issue 0.8, but didn't continue with Brandon at all. I wanted to wait for 0.9 and see what others in the forum were saying, but everything that came after my last post confirms that I was right about it developing into a cheap cuckold/cheating story despite the swinging/sharing announcement.
Sorry, but I'd rather stick to stories by The Amorous Antechinus; at least he sticks to his swinging/sharing announcements, and his stories are good too.

Is it a bug in the code when the wife isn't cheating but loyal and constantly lies to husband about Brandon?

If you are referring to the end of the new update where they talk about brandon in the car then i agree it seems like there is a mistake where variables are switched around, she will only tell about brandon on the sharing path and will lie on the ntr and vanilla path that feels wrong.

Yes, when he first leaves the apartment after his stay and she deflects his comments about his look and then later in the car when she just flat out lies about it being someone else.

I noticed that, too. The only time she tells the truth is when she knows she has Austin's approval to be with Brandon. Lying while cheating, I understand. But lying when not cheating? All my NTR-detectors are going off now. I truly hope this won't end up as yet another developer playing "gotcha!" with the loyal route. An affair with Brandon would represent the worst kind of cheating: emotional betrayal.

I doubt that after the encounter she was not comfortable thats why i lean towards it being a mistake.

The points were reworked. I went back, made a new playthrough, sharing route now has 0 wife cheater points, where before it had 2 or 3...
If you're continuing from an "old" save, and happen to have cheater wife points, on the loyal or sharing path, it might be triggering that conversation, instead of the one you'd get with 0 cheater wife points.

I usually start from beginning every time - just to catch changes (hitting caps lock TAB once goes through everything pretty fast here)

You piqued my interest. I went back and replayed that section w/ 0 cheater points for husband or wife, 0 sharing points, and high self-confidence for the wife. She still lies. Even if the wife does not cheat with Brandon later, the lie is setting up conflict between the MC & wife later when/if the MC learns the truth. I guess we'll see more in 2.10.

I don't have v0.9, but you can find the gallery code by looking inside the "game" folder. Open the file gallery_setup.rpy with any text editor and scroll near the bottom. For v0.8, there is the line

correct_code = "higuys123"

For v0.9, I think there would be a similar line with the proper correct_code for that version. The code is the text without the quote characters.

Thanks for the tip. What program should I use to open/view the gallery_setup.rpy file? I keep getting gibberish when I use Text.Editor, etc.

The only reason i can come up with, if its not a bug is a developer choice for brandon trying to kidnap her or something but it seems far fetched. It still feels like a weird choice to only let her tell the truth on sharing route.

I'm expecting this is foreshadowing that Brandon will continue trying to get the wife back. At some point, I expect her lie to the MC will have an impact.

If it's a bug, Simba will get it sorted.
It is odd for her to lie if there's no cheating points.

I had the hypothesis because I played from an old save and got a weird scene on the sharing path.
Went back, started over, and that scene didn't pop up at all because... 0 cheater wife points now on sharing path vs the 2 or 3 that couldn't really be avoided before now.
