I mean it was the other way around, Bridget was canonically a crossdresser, in fact his whole character story was joining the tournament to prove he deserved to be a guy even though he was forced to crossdress by his parents, but Twitter started harassing the devs so Bridget was retconned into being trans. It's why the Japanese side of the fandom was so mad because they were literally changing characters to appeal to the western audience. What I don't get is why they didn't just make a new character that was trans instead of changing a pre-existing character. For those lucky enough not to be aware of one of the stupidest controversies in internet history, either the creator of this game is trolling, or the translator is. It's a parody game based on the Arc System Works fighting game franchise Guilty Gear. Bridget, the featured character, is canonically trans, not a femboy. A whole bunch of internet weirdos who think being attracted to a trans girl would make them gay but being attracted to a femboy somehow wouldn't (and also that being gay would be bad), desperately want this not to be true and have gone so far as to get into arguments with the character's creator over it.
it's called character development, also you think arcsys would write, produce, voice act, model and animate a whole story mode just because some people on twitter were posting shit? get real, you're the one creating a false narrative where the devs were harrased, like back when GGxx came out? back when twitter didn't exist?, bridget hasn't been in a game since then so when did the twitter backlash happen? on the other hand, this game seems set between XX and Strive so before she transitions so it's fine, this is a femboy game you can have your fun but don't be making shit upI mean it was the other way around, Bridget was canonically a crossdresser, in fact his whole character story was joining the tournament to prove he deserved to be a guy even though he was forced to crossdress by his parents, but Twitter started harassing the devs so Bridget was retconned into being trans. Edit: Also I don't care Bridget is trans now, the creators said so, end of discussion, but don't create this false narrative. At least tell it accurately.
So it's character development that Bridget forgot about looking for his brother, as his ending in one of the previous GGs suggested? Also he has been bounty hunting so he can prove himself to be famous and bring good fortune despite the superstitious belief his village believes in. Also forget about himself not caring that he's crossdressing AND being annoyed at being confused for a girl? Then comes back in Strive, feeling conflicted about his gender identity and with no hints of ever finding his brother or not? I do believe there's some trolling involved, as the game is aboutFor those lucky enough not to be aware of one of the stupidest controversies in internet history, either the creator of this game is trolling, or the translator is.
