To those saying "why ditch the porn in favor of art?" the answer is simple. Right now Westane could be sued by any of these actors or actresses, and they would probably win their case easily. He is making money off of their likenesses without proper compensation. Saying that the income received from Patreon is not tied to the game because it's given out for free would not fly in an actual court. Any lawyer could easily argue past that, and few judges are dumb enough to not make the connection between Westane's Patreon and the only game he's made. Switching to art is the only reasonable method of keeping this game going without a cease and desist.

Personally I'm fine with the current art style. Simple rough lines and shapes means easier art production, and faster content updates. That said I'd also be fine with the artist just tracing over pictures of actors/actresses like Eva Kiss does for Good Girl Gone Bad. Either way a change to drawn art needs to be done. I don't want this game done in by legal bullshit.

Because good artists get mainstream art jobs and don't have to settle getting peanuts for making art in porn games that they probably can't put into their professional portfolios.

That, and the artists that make good money aren't doing what they love either. They're making soulless company logos and ad copy. Edit: Similar to how good programmers aren't making video games, they're programming software for companies and institutions.

Most artists that do want to do porn will do it on the side under a pseudonym specifically because of the impact it might have on their professional life. Either way a good artist isn't going to be cheap because good artists aren't actually that common. Not to mention, "If you're good at something, never do it for free" also implies you shouldn't do it for cheap either. Especially if you're used to a certain level of compensation professionally.

thats what westane is actually doing currently and he will continue to add new images and artwork as time goes forward

The line about "it won't be sustainable forever" is because it's true. Eventually supporting the images/gifs won't be ok. Considering how litigious the porn industry is and how heavily they scour the internet for use of their likenesses, I'm surprised it hasn't already been an issue.

I'm not sure that handing the image work off to a fan mod wouldn't still get Westane in legal trouble. At the very best it would just transfer the legal burden off on the fan mod, and let them incur the cease and desist problem.

The image version is gonna have to go at some point. Better to give useful feedback now on how to make the drawn art not suck instead of insisting on no art at all.

This is the only thing I actually Patreon back and if the live action gifs go, it would kill my support of the game. If I want art I'd be supporting all the other crap art based games on Patreon. Nothing is sustainable forever, we all die so embrace what made the game popular. If it gets some kind of takedown notice then deal with it and see how much money you can accrue to possibly spend on a full time 3D modeller/animator. The realism is what sells the game over things like the Fenoxo games which are much larger in scope.

Asking for more realistic or 3D renders is one of the options on the poll. If enough people want that I'm sure Westane would try to make it happen instead of continuing to invest in the 2D art.

My point is everyone should make your vote heard, don't just complain on here. Westane spent time on this. While I'm sure he has a desired outcome, fact is he's trying to listen to his audience.

Who knows? Smaller operations like this are either sent cease and desist orders they immediately comply with, or settle it out of court with included NDAs so we never hear about it.

The first has happened plenty of times on video hosting sites. Though in this case the individual performers would probably each need to raise their own separate cases or send individual cease and desists.

While Westane isn't rich, he has made enough I'd be worried about someone trying to get their share.

I think the difference is the person running the fan mod wouldn't be making money off of the mod, and so would have far smaller chance of any action being taken.

That might stop action going forward, but it wouldn't protect Westane from the period where the porn imagery was already a part of the game. Either way I think Westanes efforts are better spent doing anything but trying to preserve the porn.

Who knows? Maybe I am being paranoid, and the people that could easily sue Westane into bankruptcy just don't care enough to ever go after him. Maybe I'm just being Chicken Little here.

For me yes. The game is currently losing it's appeal because of disappointing updates anyway and if that would happen it would be the final nail in the coffin.

I'll take a completed game any day over a abandoned game, if that means accepting artwork then so be it. Who knows, it might grow on you.
