Again, zero bearing on an inability to ever notice and remember a character's name.
Well let me put it this way, I never cared enough to pay attention to most names in the majority of games to remember them.
Course it's bad enough I can't remember people's names I have met in person either.
A week could go by and you'd look familiar but I wouldn't remember your name.
What also sucks, is if can remember the name, I can't recall the face associated with it or vise versa.
It very much depends on how much interaction I have with the individual, and how common their name is.
If you said Dakota, I would have initially thought of the truck before it registered that you were referring to a person.
I played the game last night and seen her name was Dakota, but it didn't really register in my head regarding this topic.
Essentially if you're playing in free mode, there really isn't a need to learn the names.
However in story mode it's better to learn the names, as that's come back to bite me in a few games, especially choice based ones.
Been a few times I have had to look up the characters because I couldn't remember who they were in a playthrough.
