RPGM - The Curse of Pleasure [v0.9] [RanneRo]

Like most of the developers games is this here mostly about shota. The scenes are good looking, the story not bad not worst.

As I told there are mostly scenes female and shota. She have a pretty weak will to say NO. A shota will dominate and deflorate her. You cannot decide that. You MUST deflorated by him -.-

ps.: As soon as I saw there is no NTR content. (maybe the dev think - my sister get fucked so the dude ntred me -.-)

I like the game, and there's plenty of potential, but the dev seems to be focusing on stuff that a lot of people aren't in to. Nothing wrong with liking NTR, but if the game becomes focused on that then I just won't play it.

On the surface this game is heavily inspired by the older Scalegarden games, and I really hope it continues leaning that way instead of focusing on a shitty relationship with Boo. The game would be 10x better to me if that character was scrapped and the story returned to the corruption/exhibitionism stuff that it started with and that its inspiration used.

A while ago the dev did a poll that showed most people wanted more exhibition/corruption stuff and less Boo though, so fingers crossed the dev goes that way instead.

All in all, the game has really good art, and hopefully will be filling a really underserved niche since Scalegarden stopped making stuff. But on its current course I don't see myself liking this game. 4 stars because I actually want to see this game in development further, but I'll be less excited the more Boo stuff is added.

Also, I'm willing to forgive the dev for a slow update schedule since they do actually keep people updated on what's going on, and have to balance their personal life with this project. I don't think this game is in danger of being abandoned at the very least.

A walking simulator game focused mainly on hunting down which npc interaction would move the story forward without having any clue whatsoever and all that effort for a disappointing and mediocre payoff

Story/Writing - One of the game's strong point is how well written the dialogues are. The story is cliched, but is properly structured. You start off as the sister of a wimpy kid, who was cursed after a confrontation with a demon. Turns out it was a curse of exhibitionism and this will be the main fetish of the game throughout. As progress through quests, each npc dialogues change too. Easily 5/5

Gameplay - The game's weakest point is not the grind or combat. There was really no need for money and the battles are fairly easy just by maxing out str and dex(all other stat increase is garbage). I found it quite enjoyable every time there is a combat involved. I almost didnt want this part of the game ends because i know that if it does, I will spend the next 2 or 3 hours walking around the map looking for npcs that will open up events which will then hopefully(not all events give stat increase and you dont know which ones do) increase the mc's exhibitionism that will open up new scenes. This painstakingly process of going back to the same npcs over and over again finally killed any boner i had. It would have been completely fine if there was really any meaningful sex scenes afterwards, but most of the time is just overly used boob groping scene that you will encounter 90% of the game.
Moving forward, there is also the title and clothes aspect of the game which looks fresh and nice but are actually pointless and unnecessary. All it did was change npc interaction and that's about it. You have really no control over the clothing unless the game says so. All this time and effort could have been invested in more h scenes instead. 1 star for the combat

Render/Art - Bouncing boobs and overly used boobs groping, sex scenes come rarely and if they do, it's so bland you just want to skip it. Even the blowjob scenes are half assed(her mouth only goes halfway through a small dick like whuut??), and also more boobs groping. Also, there is a goblin gangbang scene which is a nice addition, and more boobs groping. And. More. Boobs. Groping. Yeah, more boobs groping smh. 1/5 for the well drawn sprites

Is this game good? Personally, I would say no... The game has a lot of problems from really bad maps to having no clue where to go...

- Village layout and the level layout is horrible.... You will spend a lot of time just going back and forth.
- Same animations over and over again. It is insane how many times the same boob grope happens...
- Nearly no sex

Good points

- Combat is more interactive than most other RPGM games

this game is one of the best games of this genre. this is a rpg with good animations and history, it has a jogability of combat diferent but if you understand you can win. the people of the game it has a lot of history change according the progress the game.

Excellent gameplay, artwork as well as the story. Keep up the good work guys !!!! And hope to see more product from you in the future. One of the best RPGM game i've ever played. And i can't wait to play v0.9, very exciting to see when the game fully completed.

i want to like the game i really do. the art design is really fine. the rpgmaker world looks fine, the mc looks really really fine. but... even this game has big potential it has too many issues for me personally:

Pros:

- thief quest is a bit buggy or totally unbalanced

- way too busy combat screen (not a fan of combat in general in porn games)
- village layout and level layout is .... not really good. too winding and major house is miles away from its village? paths are visible but .. idk... but you can look over it. saw worse
- too many sounds for small things kids jump, boobs bounce, groping etc.
- same animations over and over again
- guys have no eyes (for small boys its okay cause they are little but men should have eyes imo)
- start of the game has too many message boxes (but at least you can skip with Q even i normally like to read lore)
- nearly no sex (and again nearly no options/choices!)

atm this game is like a girl in real life who looks pretty good, but has nearly no character, has an annoying voice and is really boring during sex. i know its an early version but still its quite a big version and it's content simply is really lackluster.

The game has a fine art. very nice how the developer puts it in the scene. This game is only for people who have sad and stupid actions. At the beginning it seems very interesting in several aspects. it works at the beginning that you can help the MC to stay strong more or less or to fall. after what feels like 20 hours of playing time, however, this is not the case with kalr. At the beginning the pressure was gained by the action of the NPC A corporation face is where you can decide who you go to to increase the corruption, that's not the case. one is focused on an absolute hate NPC for me. The action that the NPC then does is easy or impossible to perform. Now everyone has a different taste. and the game is still under development. So far the game is only for people, I think the absurd imagination with adult women and young mature teens, brats and mobing, may now propire is about studying. I have come to love the MC a plus for the artist that is the first time I wish something better for the MC and would like to play but naja.Proposal yourself but brings time. Oh, and to run the game vernufti, the artist visits the Patreon page and follows the instructions for the offiezel test version.
Oh yes, you can only do it in small smaller areas, at least I haven't found an option where amn can make it bigger.

Through another game I found out that we can play it in full winds if. ALT and Enter can be pressed to switch to full or mini window. no idea if and where that is said anywhere in this game

great art, pretty unique combat system.

But it clearly lacks choice on our part. Why not let the player able to choose wether or not the protagonist let herself to succumb to the curse of lust? Mostly we only go to point A to B for another event to happen...

A decent attempt, but an unfortunately poor game.
Aside from the artstyle, which is, admittedly, very nice, it has nothing to offer.

It greets you with promises of undressing mechanics, telling that you'll be able to choose what pieces of your outfit to wear, but locks it behind story events, so you won't unlock it for god knows how long.

The combat is unnecessarily long and tedious. It has an escape button, but it only works in half of the fights, if even that many.

The map is horrendous, making you walk for way too long to get anywhere, and there's only a castrated version of fast travel, allowing you to travel from sign to sign within a given location (so not even to every sign).

But of course, the worst offender, is the lack of proper (or any at all) quest log, so you just need to navigate that crap of a map talking to everyone every day, hoping for the right event to pop up.

This game is a waste of time. Literally. It wastes so much of your time with unnecessary stuff that's honestly just not worth it. The writing doesn't make up for the time lost, and the sex events are very limited and kinda unimaginative.

Also, I hope you like having sexual interactions with little children, because god knows this is what majority of this game is about, instead of normal adult intercourse.

The only reason it's not a 1 star is because of artstyle. But that's it. Just download a gallery for it and don't waste your time playing this garbage that does not respect your time.

There are some redeeming things about this game. Like CG and artstyle, as well as "animated" (if you call 2 frames per hour an animation) scenes. Everything else is horrendous. Story, the way character progress(It's linear btw like all Hgames in existence, except maybe one or two), slow pace(WARNING) this game is as confusing to play as is slow. And I mean 4-6 hours of NOTHING slow(but only if you are new player and actually read that wall of text). So don't bother playing for the fap.

Maybe one day will look at something, doubt. Since it's 0.8. I may be wrong, we shall see.

Yuuki is one of my favorite girls in all the hentai world.
For many hours of the game you accumulate excitement and you can't wait for someone to be able to bribe Yuuki: latest release really full of interesting content.

---review for V.08---

I'd usually give it 5 stars, but due to its:

- over used CGs
- Boo's evil face in sex scenes
- Boo's awful attitude
- lack of story strengthening
- Boo lavish screen time
- lacking moments with Seita and his friends
- lacking public nudity,
I give it a 3 star.

It deserves to be appreciated because of its:
- originality
- one of a kind drawing style
- potential in the future (even though maybe still a long time til it's finished)

It's a pretty good game if you like ntr and corruption BUT
Boo is literally the most annoying character I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with NTR but his character is just suck ass, more suck than my broken English. I'd say I prefer sakura or jar jar binks over this little piece of shit, and don't say "if the character annoys you then the character is doing their job", fuck off a good annoying character is a character that also likable and if the audience doesn't have any interest at the character then there's something wrong with it. But with that aside, it's a pretty enjoyable game if you can look past THE GRIND, but that doesn't really matter because boo just overshadows every problem in this game. One thing that I LOVE in this game, is not only the art style but also the map design. For an adult RPGM game, it's a fantastic looking map and it looks better than the map in scale garden games, it's not big but it's doesn't look boring either. So good work Rannero, keep up the good work.


And Rannero, please let us cuck boo as well.

Starts off quite strong but then really losses its way.

It turns into a repetitive grind fest, where you have to go around and talk to everyone at each time of day in the hopes that you unlock something. And when you do unlock something 9 times out of 10 its exactly the same image you've seen countless time before just with a differnt set of hands jiggling her boobs.

Seriously this is a masterpiece in getting the most content out the fewest images.

And don't get me started on the main theme of this game being sex with minors.

[Review for V.08]

I would give it 5 stars in a heart beat, BUT I have been having mixed feelings towards it lately. Seeing how dedicated and determined the Dev is into his works and in handling fans. Not to mention his works from v.01 til v.07 were, undoubtedly, one of the pioneers in ORIGINAL exhibitionism-straight shota themed RPG games which inspired many. But, for the sake of reviewing, here I go:

---STORY SHIFT---
The story built from v.01 til v.07 had an amazing rhythm, rather slow burn, for the players and it made us feel amazingly intrigued, curious, and dying for another update. But, v.08's story telling had a shift in its atmosphere which affects not all, but many exhibitionism, NTR and straight shota lovers. I say this because the story suddenly forces Yuuki and almost everything to revolve around Boo,... not the other way around. Not only does it distract the players to question Yuuki's original perspective in "lust/self-corruption", but also unintentionally makes the players to hate Boo due to his rude, disrespectful, and unintelligent choices of words and actions to our beloved MC. Somehow I'd even prefer Yuuki having lewd scenes with her 3 little brother's best friends rather than Boo who's the "so called" main villain. Boo draws the players to even question Yuuki's values in "self-humiliation" which we expected it to be more elegant and dynamic. (don't get me wrong, I have no problem with NTR; for example; the Dev's works using Honey Select models in Pixiv/deviant art also involved a rude/ruthless-Boo, but the way the dialogues were delivered produced a more charming atmosphere, which is what we always adore about Rannero)

---PACE---
I know it is NOT easy to be a Dev who handles three lives in the same time. 1) his real life, 2) Game's life, 3) the life of his discord, etc... especially now having a newborn child which we all are grateful for. But, looking at his update pace since 2018 which has slowed down significantly, not so many story progress of exhibitionism or public humiliation can be seen. I mean, the Dev decided to glorify those kinks, not only Shota or NTR, right? With Dev's patrons huge in numbers and monthly payments, I really-really hoped v.08 could finally, at least, make Yuuki walk skirtless/pantiless with skirt in broad daylight. Turns out, not yet.

---BOO---
Wouldn't it more alluring if Boo was NOT an a**h** with an evil face in every CG he's in? there were so many dialogues showing his disrespect to our beloved Yuuki as a person. I could care less about Yuuki's lil brother, but some part was just too heavy on Boo's side.. Boo's dialogue and evil face are MAYBE arrousing for female players, but are they "that" suitable for male players like us? I know we all want Yuuki to be corrupted, humiliated and all, but at least make Boo more respectful to her? T.T

---in conclusion, make more what Yuuki really wants than what Boo wants---

Rannero, I'm writing this because I see you as one of the pioneers in English-Original-Hentai RPG games and I have no right in criticizing or even making you change your mind about anything, just continue what you do best without pressure.

Review for V0.8
Good points:
- Great art
- Combat is more interactive than most other RPGM games
- Animation in certain scenes is good

Bad points:
- Horrible pacing
- Too much running inbetween and guessing what to do next to progress
- Too much shota, more variety would have been a bonus
- Horrible characters all around

Summary:
From a personal point of view, I'd say this hits nearly the same ticks as a certain other game with a poor MC does for me. Where characters are just being tortured for the heck of it. It just makes me boil, and is basically a boner kill.
What I mean by that, is that a certain kid named Boo has a extreme hate boner for the MC's brother. And thanks to the curse ordeal, She will comply with his demands to basically torture her own brother to make Boo happy.
I would have been fine with her sleeping around and getting more and more corrupted, and perhaps even leaving her brother due to the curse taking over, but actively torturing a onlooker is something I just can't really say I enjoy.

The gameplay itself is subpar, with a lot of running and talking. With the lack of a fast forward button to speed up between dialogues is extremely frustrating if you by chance have to replay the game to get to what is considered "current content".

While the art is beautiful and nice to look at, I don't feel that alone is reason to play the game fully.
Rather, get yourself a 100% savefile and watch the scenes from the recollection room.

3/5 stars thanks to the art. I would give it less if not for my personal bias towards how the story is going.

If we just value the writing and the sex scenes and not the update frequency then this game is a 10/10. It's sad that the author takes so much time to release new content, because this game has an incredible potential: many different sex scenes situations, no annoying grinding, an amazing art...

Game version [v0.8]

Pros
+ H scenes are fantastic
+ Dialogue is pretty good and can be sped up as well
+ Animations are top notch
+ Model design of characters is also top notch
+ Good sound production in H scenes
+ Character progression between MC and other characters is good. Nothing is too rushed and the relationship feels genuine

Neutral
* Story is meh. You could put the same characters in a different setting/story and it would probably be better however this is fine for what it is.
* Lots of walking however dev added fast travel at sign posts around the map.
* Recollection room is fine but could be better. Could be reorganized to the time of H scenes being encountered. Sometimes I go through all of them just to get the ones I want to rewatch.
* Certain people and H scenes can't be avoided. Can't choose who you want and don't want. Would've been a nice feature to have so you can choose who you wanted to be doing H scenes with however not game breaking.


Cons
- Update wait times are super long. A year wait between v0.7 and v0.8
- While I think most bugs are fixed you might encounter some that are not found and the ones you usually find will make you reload a save. (Save often)
- A sub category of the story while I put it overall in the neutral the story direction overall is messy. As you play the game you only really care about doing stuff in the village/home for story progression with characters. Anything outside of the village is stuff I don't care about much. I mention since you do spend a good amount of time outside of the village on stuff I could honestly get by without doing.
- Map design is not the greatest especially before he added fast travel to certain places. However you will still have a good amount of running to do across the map given how its design. Very tedious and could be better if he redesigned it. I feel like this plagues a lot of RPGM games in general.

Conclusion
The Curse of Pleasure is sprinkled nicely with some good characters and fantastic H scenes. However its plague with long update times. With how the development of the game is going it would not be a surprised to see the game wait year+ for an update or never again. The games future is uncertain. No game is worth waiting year or more for an update even for a good game. If a v0.9 ever came out then it will be when no one expected but I hope the dev is able to finish this fantastic game he has on his hands.

I am stuck at 6 out of 7 progress (required for reading the second book)-- apparently I am missing some event which I'm unable to find.
