Writing by committee as you suggest is indeed an excellent way to wind up with a shit story and therefore lose supporters.

Usually the dev has a pretty good idea of what they want to tell.

Some really want others to tell them what to do, so they just want money from the game. That tend to not work well and the game ends up abandoned. Like the old saying goes.... to many cooks in the kitchen ruins the cake.

Just the level of bullying from "fans" on some devs is just ridiculous. If you don't like the game piss off, most of the time by people who will never support the game or dev anyways.

There are a lot on here that think their way is the only way. and if they do not get that, they will bitch and complain and do everything they can to get the game banned or abandoned.

If they do not like the game, move on and find one that does suit them.

I think most developers have a game plan ready, at least in broad outline. If he starts taking into account the recipients' wishes in subsequent updates, the story will progress like a drunk on the road. And this will definitely ruin the game.

I have seen some people say forced sex scenes with unavoidable girls make games feel kinetic and stuff.
Which is something I kind of agree with its partly why I haven't tried this yet.

I can see that. I HATE kinetic novels. Still, I couldn't imagine turning her down, and getting with her is such a big part of the story.

The issue unfortunately is they will review bomb and trash on the game for months. It's just so petty but it has to be awful for new devs and I wouldn't be shocked if they got more than a few to abandon their game.

It's really childish, immature behaviour, and unfortunately the reality for many Devs. I really admire the Devs who stick it out, remain and engage here, and keep being polite and calm.

I wasn't talking about you. Just in general, I'm seeing it more and more on games, especially against new devs as people try to bully them into changing the game to their exact idea of what it "should" be. It's just getting out of hand.

Those people lack the mental maturity to just move on to something that would interest them. It has to be their way, which is the true definition of selfish, narcissistic people.
