Could always still make it as a learning experience (not putting out chapter by chapter) and then drop a Complete release once it is finished. Gets your VN out there & your story, Dev Experience & by passes the haters "add this, remove this" BS. (even if they will still be haters and complain about something.) I had thought about making one too a while ago but with my current PC the render time is, let's say... scary long. So now I just keep appreciating other peoples efforts.
Yeah, I was mulling over trying to do my own renders. I use an older laptop and actually had gotten into DAZ3D. I was slowly learning a few things but I realized that, while there's a number of free assets out there from numerous sources, to truly get the looks that I wanted was going to be financially unsustainable. Knowing how the process works though, gives me a deep appreciation and a good deal of patience for those folks who actually do put out content to the public. I try to give fair criticism without being overbearing and I'm definitely supportive for those who want to take their time putting out updates in order to put out the best for the fans.
Many out there don't understand that, for a lot of devs and dev teams, taking their time putting out updates is a sign of respect for the fans. It means putting the best content out there for fans without slinging any old thing out there for profit or pressure. Again, if you actually have to do what they do, you can understand why sometimes updates don't make target dates or how some can be really large. The really good ones have to balance good storytelling, massive character backgrounds and development, scenery changes, branching subplots, PLUS rendering, coding, script writing along with some having real life jobs to go to as well. AND having to deal with whiny ass players whose only interests are getting their faps & squelches on. I don't envy Any of the good ones because that's a Lot of work involved to be dealing with gripers. As I said in another thread, if it were me and I had to deal with some of the ignorance that gets put out in these threads, I'd pull a Pixil and go off the grid until I was ready to put out the next batch of content.
