I fully agree that fully balancing it right now would not be something that can be easily done.
However i do think that its time to point out that this part should (at some point) get some way to actually get more perks.
And in my personal opinion: It should be possible end game to get most if not all perks if the player actually invests in that. With the current x2 cost increase that would be plain out unreasonable to get a lot of perks unless you will get millions of exp for adventuring later on. And i doubt that this is the plan.
Which means it would be a good idea to at least brainstorm about what kind of balance you want.
And this is again just my personal opinion:
1) I want to get my super genious sluts in the endgame
2) I would prefer not being locked into having them all do only 1 job because thats the only one giving enough exp
which leads me to the suggestion that the cost curve for multiple perks gets reduced (again: not necassarily with the next patch, though i would like that). Here just a few ideas for brainstorming:
a) reducing the curve from x2 to something like +10 each. That would prevent the explosion for later perks
b) Getting a training that you pay with gold that reduces the cost by one step (so if you have 3 perks and two trainings you would again pay like if it was the first perk you buy). That would act as money sink
c) Free perks for reaching milestones. You could get one perk for the cooking category if you reach cooking 50 on a girl for example. That would reward you for giving them versatility and would tie in with clients for prostitution requiring stats too
d) Alchemy potions that give a random perk? That would make our alchemist trader much more useful
