And I've just been told by one user at the Daz forums that earlier today that coupon code was giving a much higher extra discount and not the 10% that was supposed to offer on Daz Originals, meaning that some fortunate folks surely have purchased GCs with huge discounts earlier today. Not me, sadly. Still, I shouldn't complain, 28% off GCs is still nice.

There's a 55%/65% off sale on a bunch of environments stuff over at Renderosity:

If you are Prime and have not fired off your 20% off coupon yet, might be worth a looksee.

There's a few other sales going on as usual, as well as a short Q&A with Powerage:

Hey,

Today is a decent opportunity to get a GC with an attractive 28% discount. Let me explain it.

In my current cart, I'm getting a 28% discount on the gift card included. But I believe it follows the sale logic. I mean, I have three of yesterday's new releases in the cart that grant an extra 20% discount to the order, and then I also have one of today's new releases (I have two of them in fact), that together with the LUVIN-DAZ coupon code of today's sale grant an extra 10% discount on Daz Originals. And it seems that gift cards count as Daz Originals. At least, they appear listed among my wishlisted Daz Originals items (yes, I've grown accustomed to WL gift cards as well). Hence the total 28% discount on the GC. :D
Today the opportunity is even juicier. The GC discount can mount up to 35%. The bad news is the important number of buy-ins required. In total:

At least 3 to get an extra 20% off*‡ your entire order
At least 1 and use Coupon Code LUVIN-DAZ
At least 1

Still, if you can throw in tokens to bring the final price down, it's a good chance, especially if you have an interest in your buy-ins.

Damn, now I regret buying one for 24% off, even though the buy-in is large if you get a 500$ one it is quite worth it.

EDIT: Well, I shouldn't complain too loud, since I guess you guys bought some at 10% or 15%. It's just what you gotta deal with in Daz land I guess. I do have a tendency to just buy a big one when a good GC discount like this one hits anyways, even though I don't need it. Hope they don't go even lower next week...

Oh, yes, absolutely. The budget of the card is also a crucial aspect to decide whether it makes sense the extra effort of buying that many buy-ins or not. For small budget cards, then it's hard to justify making a purchase like this. But for a $500 one, it's worth it. And as I said, if you happen to have tokens to spend in the process, the deal gets even better. Add to those two variables that you also happen to wish the buy-ins and then you've found one hell of a deal. :D

Yes. The tokens don't apply to the gift card, but they do to the buy-ins, and that can make a difference.

At the other end from "small budget cards", if you believe you're going to spend a lot on Daz in the coming years, you can buy more than one gift card at once, and the buy-in becomes a smaller proportion, making the final effective percentage higher. If the gift card is identical to one already in the cart, it won't add it, but if you change the "from" name by adding a single character, it will allow it, and then you can put in as many cards as you can afford.
