A point to note:

This Month's/Week's Daz Plus Freebies do not appear on the page; you can find the by selecting the

I usually check the main sales page every week, sorting prices from low to high. That generally shows all of the currently offered freebies that don't involve coupons and such.

Looks like the twice monthly batch of 'regular' freebies hasn't dropped yet, or maybe I just have all of them already...

I did note the $2/3 minimum prices on March Mehness items. Which of course makes tokens a bit more useless.

And I'm very happy to have thrown my Daz budget Renderosity's way for a change. Sure, the prices are a bit higher, but with that 'blip' 50% off gift certificates sale a couple of weeks back, yeah I have no regrets r.e. not grabbing a Daz3D.com gift card instead when those were on sale. I missed the 'micro-blip' 50% off gift card thing on the Daz end (they caught that one fairly quickly), but so far March Mehness just isn't wowing me, so I'm essentially just grabbing a cheap item every two days (over $1) to maintain my 'gold star' status.

Renderosity seems to be making an honest efffort to have a March Mayhem sale, although the discounts are essentially the 'usual mix'. I already fired off my monthly Prime coupon over the weekend, so I'm in a holding pattern until another coupon offer pops up, probably towards the middle-end of the month, we shall see.

I do get that a number of you are still building up your Daz libraries, so hopefully you are finding decent deals here and there at Daz3D.com and the other sites.

I'm in the middle of copying 6 million+ daz related files over to my new 8tb drive, which will take a number of hours... then I have to play around with moving my current software setup over to my dedicated rendering rig, so in short, I won't be paying attention to the sales in the next couple of days. As usual, call out the deals when you spot them!

There is this one on Renderosity, not sure if it's Prime Member only or a general coupon ... might be worth a try ...

Coupon Code: SPRING12025
[EDIT] expires 6th March 2025 ... not 3rd June 2025, I'll never get used to American dates [/EDIT]

AI slop, forget it and move on.

Worse yet, they lie and say it is "ethically sourced", trained solely on Daz 3D's original characters. I looked at their website for more details but there are none. While maybe some final 3D step is only trained on Daz's original characters, clearly it could not have the breadth of knowledge to create all the things it can (with a natural language English prompt) without training on some other data. Like, it can't know how to make a "lizard man" (one of the examples in the video) unless it's seen some data somewhere with a lizard man. Any concept for which there's no Daz original character had to come from somewhere, and that somewhere was not a Daz original character, and therefore we can assume that it was not ethically sourced.

For example, you could imagine it's built to use something like Stable Diffusion under the hood to generate 2D shapes that they then conform the 3D wireframe shape to. Every 2D image generator out there was not ethically sourced, so if it's anything like that, it's not ethically sourced. Basically, anything with English prompt following ability was not ethically sourced, because to get that prompt following you need more data than anyone can ethically source.

What makes it worse is not just that it's not ethically sourced, it's the fact that they bring the subject up, they explicitly claim it's "ethically sourced" when it's (almost certainly) not. Because that makes it an intentional lie meant to defuse a criticism that surely is actually valid. Lying liars can get fucked.

You may have a point there. When I read that, I thought that perhaps Yellow used Daz morphs to train the AI, but even if he used the others PA morphs without their consent, it's already unethical. And it does seems suspicious if they didn't explain that further.

Also, people on the forum aren't exactly jumping with enthusiasm either

We can ignore it and simply put it aside and dedicate ourselves to the classic renders of a lifetime.

But it is an undeniable fact that AI has been incorporated into practically every aspect we can imagine. Now even in what was always considered "Exclusive Human Territory": artistic creativity.

For my part, I prefer to participate in this irreversible process. (Of course, now in its infancy its results are clumsy and of little artistic value. But I also remember the results of ChatGPT in its infancy. And that was only 3 years ago).

In the horizon of 15 to 30 years, I am sure that the creative processes will be paradigmatically different from what we have now. So I will enjoy them as they are now, while there is still time.

Hello friends,

In today's Renderosity's newsletter, in addition to the normal information about new sales (with the apparently being the one with the best deals at the moment, with up to 65% base discount for Prime members), there's also notice about an item that it's currently free and that will remain free for one week: the , which I find interesting enough. It's free at any rate.

On top of that, there's an active coupon code, that grants 15% off for orders worth $25 or more, working at Renderosity at the moment, at least that's my experience. You should notice an active notification about this coupon code when you visit the site.
