2025-10-02 03:30MDT ... I'm seeing roughly 20% reduction on Outlet and Quick Grab prices ... you might find it useful ... also it may be a unintentional as I'm not seeing any notices about it, so probably won't last

Well, it finally happened...

A new batch of 16 freebies, and I already have previously acquired all of them from the Daz3D.com store. I see that the Daz sales team is still trying to pawn off Kin and her stuff. How long has Kin been a freebie now, years? Kind of like that from a while back.

Anyways, took a look at today's sale. The $2.99 minimum continues to be an annoyance, but oaiki 's note about the 20% reduction of outlet store items pricing could be interesting. I'm not in a spending mood atm, so we'll see if anything interesting shakes out. I wonder why they decided to hold off on the Daz+ sale for an extra week. The PA sale being extended is better than nothing I suppose.

At renderosity, a free set of clown masks by RPublishing till 16/10

It is supposed to be for prime members only and I am not 100% certain that it works for everybody, but I guess there's no harm in trying out.

While browsing Renderosty's sales today per amster22's previous suggestion (30% off 20 or more coupon (y)), I stumbled across this little number by Pamawo:

image_62f8815628dd3922e26936d4dfae13c7.jpg

On sale through tomorrow (65% off, coupon eligible), but the 30% off coupon expires today, sooo...

Looks like a must have, for me anyways! Sure, it's $4.88 (sale price before coupon), and I'll probably only put it to use it a couple of times, but then that's true of many Daz wardrobe items that I collect. It just looks like a perfect setup for sexy fun time!

Link to other items currently on sale for 65% off (if prime), two sales running concurrently:

At daz3d, for the last day of the artists sale, a very unusual offer.

Get up to 3 Releases for $5.99 each
OR up to 7 with any Release
Use code: VIP-GOLD

The notion of "still new items" is very large, as it dates back to 01/01/25. Their number is thus very high (3.7k) and the interesting point is that it works for all of them. Including expensive bundles!
You can get 95% off a new bundle this way and I am not sure that this was completely intended. But who knows...
It is within an orange banner, and it seems to require to own at least a golden ticket.

And tomorrow is probably the first day of the daz+/prime October sale.

The extra discount on subscriptions is not surprising. I think it is part of "Grand Plan" to turn daz+ subscriber to premier. When they reduced the price of d+ annual subscription at the end of June and extended d+ existing subscriptions by 3 months, I was happy as mine was about to be finished and was extended to October... And now I have a d+ subscription that will end in a few weeks. and I have to consider whether I renew or turn to premier alternative.

I am probably not the only one, and I tried to quantitatively assess the interest of premier. Of course, it is based on my tastes and shopping habits, but it may interest you.

So concerning the benefits of premier vs daz+.

Coupons: the $6 d+ or $10 premier DO coupon is great and you can get this way almost free DO assets. 1er gives you a direct extra $4/month.

The 6/18 or 10/25 coupon is more questionable and one cannot consider it as an extra money/month. Indeed, to use it at its best, it must be
combined to other discounts and frequently the best offers already require the use of a coupon. For instance, with last month sales, you could not have at the same time the 30%/artist and the D+/1er coupon. Only advantage, 10/25 is 40% off, which is very good, and it is not affected by the "minimum price after discount" threshold. But I do not consider it as an advantage larger than $2/month compared to the d+ coupon.

Discounts: extra discount is always good (on DO, plus, etc), but I already have a large library, and I mostly purchase items with a big discount. With the new "minimal price" policy of daz, frequently, the threshold is reached and having any extra discount is useless. I do not purchase a lot and the benefit is not worth more than a couple of bucks per month.

Gifts: when signing to premier, you get a shitload of free items. Seems great. But most are just characters addon (like Betty Boop for Catwoman 9). I rarely use genesis 9 and generally do not have the base character, they are without product page or a decent set of images, which IMHO makes them almost unusable. TBH I already have waaaayyy too much chars, and I consider these chars just as a library clutter (and a negative point for 1er subscription!!).
Besides that, a free bundle/month is great. Not a big fan of these G9 bundles, but I could purchase one for, say, $4-5, depending on its content, but probably not every month. Let's say it's worth $3 per month.

Extra tools for DS: I already had purchased several of them before they are turned to premier only, and having some tools that disappear from DS when you stop your subscription, is not very appealing. So $0.

Tokens: the 1 token/$5 purchase is very interesting. Alas, most of the very interesting sales (fast/quick grab, fixed price sales) are not token sensitive. More, I never really missed tokens while being daz+. I always had 8 tokens when doing big purchases. Maybe I could have used more tokens when purchasing only a couple of assets, but I do not think that the overall gain will be more than a few bucks per month. Lets say $3/month.

So to summarize daz+ vs premier:
Extra cost (with the 25% discount) Daz+ $50 1er $150, extra cost $100
Extra benefits: per month $4 (DO coupon), $2 (PA coupon), $2 (extra discounts), $3 (bundle gift), $3 (tokens)=$14/month or $168/year

So, it seems interesting and accordingly, I subscribed to premier, but YMMV.

Besides the subscription aspect, the sale seems somehow weird.
You unlock extra discounts by claiming free assets (stackers). Today's stacker is a set of balloons (with my pathetic blender skills, I could do the same in less than an hour and TBH I really hope that the next ones will less lazy).
You can claim one gift per day and they add.
This means that if you claim your daily freebies, discounts at the end of the month will be better than now and you should really wait to purchase anything!!!!
(seems weird and counter productive, but I am not a marketing strategist)

Besides that, 80% off artists shops with a new release doorbuster, is not bad.

BTW - if y'all are expecting the new batch of Quick-Grab items today, you are out of luck; someone forgot to add the product list to the listing.

Normal service subject to disruption due the wrong kind of intern online

R.E. Premier memberships and associated discounts and benefits, tokens, and the subsequent 'minimums' that have been enforced.

IMHO the Daz3D.com sales team keeps shooting themselves in the foot here. Daz+ memberships were working just fine before the advent of tokens and Premier. But of course some probably fresh out of college hire decided that they could do things better, and introduced the token system.

The token system was revoked for a bit before it returned again, as many of you here already know, because a number of veteran Daz customers simply didn't like tokens. Too gimmicky among other things.

We don't need to rehash extensively the introduction of the Premier system, and the insulting offers that the Daz sales team gave to existing Plus members to 'upgrade' to Premier. Needless to say I still feel insulted, and am still Daz+, and will be for a while yet.

Of course, the deeper discounts offered via tokens and Premier couldn't last of course, as PAs often aren't particularly happy when their hard work is being sold for really really cheap, so to 'course correct', we have minimums now. Sometimes we are lucky enough to catch minimums not being enforced for some sale, but for the most part, said minimums lessen the value of Plus/Premier/Token discounts.

Said minimums of course weren't required under the 'old' system, so all of the animosity people have currently towards how sales work now is because the Daz sales team couldn't leave well enough alone.

I still believe that G2/G1/V4M4 era stuff should have steeper discounts, as most of these products are 10-20 years old at this point. Essentially they are obsolete. Obsolete can still be useful in some cases, but yeah minimums should be lower for these at the very least.

Or they could just get rid of Premier and minimums and tokens, but of course that won't happen at this point. This is where I tend to respect the Renderosity sales team more. Renderosity keeps things simple. The only reason I don't shop at Renderosity more is because of occasionally really crazy discount prices popping up at Daz3D.com. The average price I spend per product at Daz3D.com is about half what I spend at Renderosity. But then this has always been the case.

In short, because the Daz sales team likes to play games with their customers, I have less respect for the Daz sales team. If they would just HAVE FAITH in their product lineup and simplify things, IMHO they'd have more happy customers. But that ship sailed a long time ago, and short of a major sales team shakeup, yeah...

I just wish that we'd get bigger discounts at say Renderhub, etc. to entice me to shop there.

---

As for today's sale, color me underwhelmed. I'll grab the freebie of course, but past 'Plus' yearly sales have been a lot more interesting than this one so far discounts and bundle wise. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

On a happier Note?

Over on Renderosity I am seeing by as Free ... as far as I can tell that's just for Prime Members though

Like it or not (I don't) Tokens are probably here to stay; it is almost a guaranteed minimum of $80 for them every two weeks; plus the extra spend you may be enticed into by the prospect of boosting your discounts.

the insulting offers that the Daz sales team gave to existing Plus members to 'upgrade' to Premier
Or they could just get rid of Premier and minimums and tokens, but of course that won't happen at this point.
I suspect that Daz is trying phase out Daz+ in favour of the subscription model that Premier brings with it.

Why do I think that? Well, you cannot renew your Daz+ mid-flight like you used to; and if you want to benefit from the discounted sign-up price, you have to forego your remaining period on your current subscription.

Sadly, as amster22 points out, the upgrade can seem to be worthwhile; they'll probably capture many more converts with it.

However, in my opinion, Premier's biggest turn-off is the subscription model; I do not want to develop an affection for an asset, access to which will suddenly get turned off should I not be able to maintain the subscription.

I have less respect for the Daz sales team.
I'd add their Dev Team, JGE is Just Not Good Enough. Just today we saw the SNAFU with Quick-Grabs ...

As for today's sale, color me underwhelmed.

So my D+ membership expires start of next month. I thought i might renew now with the discount (although IIRC i did get a better discount last year, but hey).

Anyway, if i "cancel" my membership. It says I've cancelled, but i still get the benefits until end of month. Then i click on subscribe and it doesn't take me through to sign-up. Instead it just re-actives my former membership!

I remember you used to be able to buy a new membership and it would add 12 months to your current expire.

Any ideas how to do this? Just seems weird of Daz not to take the money.

That is how it used to work when you cancelled the subscription, they did not refund the difference, they just let it run its course.

The gotcha with that was that if you bought a discounted subscription before it expired, you had to go cancel the old one after, otherwise it automatically renewed and you got the renewed period tagged on to the end of the currently active one ...

So my D+ membership expires start of next month. I thought i might renew now with the discount (although IIRC i did get a better discount last year, but hey).

 there are a few answers on this topic in Daz's Daz+ forum... and there seems to be a good deal of confusion.

On the assumption that having re-subscribed your subscription will automatically renew, at the discounted price, when the old one runs out that might be the way they "discount" the balance of your remaining remaining subscription.

I remember you used to be able to buy a new membership and it would add 12 months to your current expire.

Any ideas how to do this? Just seems weird of Daz not to take the money.
Nope! but I guess what you have describe might be the "How"; they force you to explicitly cancel the old one before renewing (re-subscribing) ... assuming my assumption is correct; but keep in mind what the say about "Assume" ...

It'll be interesting to here back from you, once your current subscription runs out — Good Luck

Just seems weird of Daz not to take the money.
Don't worry, Daz will take your money, one way or another

Open a ticket with Daz customer service. It may take them a few days to get back to you, so note the sale details in your ticket, i.e. how much you were supposed to pay for the membership renewal and when you membership was supposed to expire.

Worst case they don't do anything, but they are usually pretty helpful with these things. It often just takes them a bit to get back to you...

IIRC, the current Daz+ membership no longer adds another 12 months. It gives an "extra" discount with the time you have left on your membership.

Just a note on the 79 cent outlet store stuff that you mentioned earlier, but didn't see where the extra discount was mentioned. The 50% off discount for Plus/Premier has been increased to 60% off, per this banner:

outletbanner2.jpg

Probably for a limited time only, who knows how long...

Also, there appears to be a new batch of regular freebies, which I spotted via my usual 'sort prices low to high' sort on the main page.

I finally have the locker room light set for that locker room, yay freebies!

Yeah, that came and went (it was probably the intern trying his hand at setting discounts)... the current one is advertised as the Daz Festival thingy.
