You are not missing anything. In fact - you're not wrong either.Am I missing something here, or am I just reading too much into it despite the author and everyone else touting (probably inadequate word in this context) the strength of the story?
The over the top characters, the 40 characters surrounded the bosses in daylight, the four serpents and so on.
All of these are done on purpose. And would of course not work if you add our real-life logic to it.
It is a universe and style I created for myself.
I don't want a realistic story. Too many games out there already with realistic settings.
And let me tell you, the over the top style has not even peaked yet! We haven't even got to proper fight scenes, haha.
The reason for why I am saying you are not wrong either is because this style of writing is simply not for everyone. And that is of course understandable. Some like over the top, some like realistic, some like both.
So, sadly, this game is not for you and I respect that and hope you find a game that fits your own style. (Luckily for you, that should be the majority of the games here.)
My guess for why the thread is filled mostly with people that like the game is because the ones who disliked the game knew at the get-go that it wasn't their style so they moved on.
In the end, this is a niche game. Niche games are weird, haha.
Hope this answer some of your questions!
