It already takes devs ages (years and years) who are producing a good amount of numbers yearly with storys with a similar scope, how long is a project with a 2 year downtime supposed to take with such a scope?

I just started this game and I am about to lose my mind on this Nimble Fingers contract.

I've read through the forums and done everything. Some people say it's stuck at 95% (which is where I am at) and it cannot go to 100%, but others have of course listed everything to do (which I have done), and I can't get it to 100%.

Am I missing something? Or is there an editable variable I can change to max it out? I don't want to move on without completing it.

It's really getting on my nerves, even though I don't have one, but this nagging, complaining, and nitpicking is horrible.

Does anyone actually think that a developer like that has a private life? You always think, 'I donated $10, now he has to work for me 24/7.' No, folks, it's not like that. Nobody can live on air and love.

Anyway, I look in here every now and then and if I see something from Hopes, even if it's just about JJJ, I'm happy. If there is a sequel to TDLF, I will celebrate.

All of this is entirely hypothetical because none of us really know what's going on behind the scenes.

I honestly wonder if the decision to expand on the contracts by making them puzzle-esque gameplay sections instead of just rng stat checks like before, is something Hopes ended up regretting and is a potential factor in the abcense.

The original goal being a way to make the game more interactive, while also reducing Hopes' burnout from the repetitive cycle of writing and rendering, potentially.

They're well designed and fun sections don't get me wrong, but a very large portion of the dev time on the last 2 updates were dedicated to reworking and fixing them. If it just ended up adding to the stress instead of helping, because continueing to do those while developing the rest of the game is a shit ton of work. And even if Hopes did end up regretting the choice, undoing something you've spend so much time and effort into would hurt.

Again, all of this is hypothetical and he probably has other shit going on. But I have questioned if the scope of the game ended up being too much for his current life situation.

Given you've tagged me, guess I'll try to respond to some of your post;


Correction, people "were" paying him.
After making that last Patreon post, he paused (or suspended) all Patreon payments.

With discord, it's not a platform that I use the most (out of all social media platforms), but generally if the dev is quite active on discord server, fans of the games can get quite a bit of new information which may not typically be available even on Patreon.
So if a person doesn't want to join discord, well it's on them and they can't go complaining "Why isn't this info available in Y" etc etc. Cause that's just the advantage of the platform.
This isn't to say that Hopes is currently active on discord; so to those tempted don't go complaining to me saying "You deceived me!" etc lol. All I am saying are merely benefits of joining discord compared to those that don't.

Every info that I revealed until now, I only have revealed after getting permission from Hopes anyway.
Any info which Hopes gives me the OK to share, I share here.
The rest (which he may have revealed to me), it's pretty much given he wishes to keep it to himself so I keep quiet about.
So only difference would be just the "title/position" of Community person, which I never really cared about.

And yes, for those who are in Hopes' discord already know I am one of the Proofreaders for DeLuca (along with Wibble, who is the main proofreader), but that's because Hopes wanted to give me that position for proofreading substantial part voluntarily, not because I wanted the Proofreader role lol

In the end, I'll still be limited in what I can reveal based on what Hopes says (which obviously is his right), so there would be no changes.

That's not the reason.
The reason why people think it's abandoned is the Prefix/Tag system on this site (referring to the Uploading Rules section 3 Prefixes).
Most people on this site don't even understand why the tag is applied, & when they see it they just assume it's abandoned (the fact that it's so hard to find certainly don't help things lol).

Hence, I find it is a very flawed system which doesn't take into account dev's irl personal situations; it only misrepresents actual positions of devs by just sticking the label after 3 months while fanning the flame for the trolls to infest the said game's thread to well..... talk crap, in which thread's state often becomes a dumpster fire.
It happened to this thread after getting the "abandoned" tag got slapped on, & it's the same with a lot of other games which got abandoned tag as well.

As for the whole how often the dev gives status updates; well, yeah there is no doubt he could have done a lot better in terms of his communications - and I did mention to him it may have been better off just giving a one or two sentence irl status as you said (this was early this year actually).
His response was, "Yeah, I was good at communication, until I wasn't. Can only strive to be better in the future."

As for why he doesn't make status update posts now (on Patreon, Discord, f95zone), well he's already aware of how this thread is on this site lol.
But regardless, he feels pointless to just say stuff cause he feels they will just merely be words at this point & he wish to back them up with something tangible when he says something.

Hence, you may not agree with it, but that's the way he's going about it.
Expect him to be active on all platforms when he's ready to release the next update.
But until then, he's content to let people think what they wish to think about the game's status.

Did you try using the Walkthrough? It explains clearly how to get 100%.

Once you have complete all interactions it will go green and show "100%".

I should have specified, but yes, I did. Walkthrough, forum scouring. Did all of the events listed in the walkthrough, still stuck at 95%.

Not going to stress it. I would have liked to play through at least until it got abandoned, but not if I can't even achieve a simple fully completed quest even after having completed everything. I ran the quest several times; nothing gets me past 95%.

I forgot that was a thing. I hate to go that route, because I'd like to experience the whole game.

Circled back to this game after 4 years (last save was time stamped April 2021) and first thing I did after d/l was check the gallery tab. Whilst Grace had about a page of new scenes yet to be unlocked, was surprised that Luna had nothing new since "Fearless Serpent." Huh?? From what I recall, Luna was hands down the fan favorite on this thread back in the day. Has she really had essentially no advancement since v0.7?? Very sad since she's the only LI I really cared about
