No? what would happen to the family?
No one has told me anything about why I'm here, what my contract entails, who my father is or why I matter in any way, so how the hell would I have any idea what would happen to 'the family' if something happened to me?

The only reason I haven't been assassinated inside the house already is pure luck.

Seriously, might want to either change that line or have the MC retort with something about no one telling him anything or have the MC actually know something about why he is in any way important before this scene comes about.
I know previously he was given some idea who his mother is/was, but that doesn't really explain his situation to him.

Finished the new version today.

The game is still excellent. I really liked the reworked contracts. They are not as necessary as I initially thought, as the main story pays well and ended up with the money from them just sitting there. The ability to revisit the contracts when mc is stronger is a nice touch. They also add a bit of flavour to the world. The painter's contract especially was really nice, both in flavour and story.

If it was up to me, the game would have a quest or two more, but reworking your code is a bitch at the best of times so it's understandable.

Also, I found a couple of bugs in the replay room caused by old filenames/paths, which I fixed.
Now you can enter the gallery, the intro playback works, the deadly dinner image is correctly sized (approximately), Cordia's thumbnail exists and I added the two new scenes in misc. They're unlocked by default, so spoilers if you don't finish the game first.

Download the zip, unzip the files in /game/gallery subfolder and overwrite. Keep a backup, just in case.

I try to do a mission, but I do not understand what the game is trying to tell me here.

>>>You're not a full Mission Points. Do you still wish to continue?<<<

I am unable to parse this message, sorry. What information am I supposed to be getting here? Also, both continue and skip force you to do the mission.

I'm not 100% sure if the trigger is completing the mission x amount of times, or if it's completing it with high enough ranking, i.e. attacking the guard, stealing the jacket, beating up the guy from the couple and taking his wallet, stealing the jewelry + getting the ring, from Bikini Girl.
Either way, just keep on completing it & checking the square with the dog, eventually the old man will appear.
Neither attacking the guard nor beating up the guy should be relevant, I am pretty certain I had done neither when I met the guy.

Then let me write it in clear words, maybe then you guys might understand it.

I don't feel the need to play the game from the beginning after playing it all the time till the end of 0.06.5
So, the request is:
A Save-file from NEW V0.07.1 at the point where the OLD V0.06.5 ENDED
I'm not gonna ask for the Save-file from V0.06.5.
I know it's sometimes hard for some people to read with a clear mind !
Your original request was

To bad have to start over again.
Game crashes already when trying to buy books.
Gonna skip it for the moment till those damn bugs has been fixed,
And somebody can provide a 'NEW' save-file at the end of V0.06.5
So you did not mention 0.07.1, you mentioned "trying to buy books" and considered it a bug instead of the fact that this is not a thing anymore, so I'd say it was reasonable to assume that you, as many others, missed the fact that old saves did not work. Yes, you wrote "new" save file in it as well, but communication is a two way street and your original message was at best misleading as well, so all the aggression you put into your further posts was quite unwarranted.

You can refill your health and mission points in the shop, you don't need full points if you make the correct choices on a mission tho, so it's up to you if you want to refill or not.

To be fair, I think that you could view this as implying that losing the MC would be an embarrassment to Cordia, in the eyes of the other families.
MC rushing in and getting whacked would make The Family look unprofessional and weak, perhaps?
Also, as MC is a DeLuca, The Family would be called to answer for MC.
Maybe, rather than advising of the MC's worth, he's advising of the consequence of the MC's actions?

You have some mission points. How many is dependent on level of your character. Most of the time when you fail some important stat check, you will lose mission points. If your mission points fall to 0, mission is aborted. You can restore your points in shop. There is big button on the right with text "Restore"

~>I'm currently confuse on morality +/- on the guide can anyone explain it to me?
It has been suggested that it should better be renamed. "Morality +" is more ruthless, "Morality -" more compassionate.

I try to do a mission, but I do not understand what the game is trying to tell me here.

You have a certain number of maximum "mission points" and will lose one whenever you fail a check or similar, if they drop to 0 you will fail the mission. So if you start with less than maximum, odds of failure are higher. You can replenish them in the shop for $5 per mission point or on special places during the missions (e. g. North, then West, then Explore in the Nimble Fingers mission).

The "starts anyway" is a known bug but disappeared for me with 0.7.1.

Thanks, I never noticed that. So the missions need save scumming I suppose.

You can also refill your Mission Points at various spots in the Contracts.
The 1st Contract, Explore the square before the 2 houses.
The 2nd Contract, go for a drink in the Tavern.

Each of these will refill +1MP, for free.
Neither attacking the guard nor beating up the guy should be relevant, I am pretty certain I had done neither when I met the guy.
Apparently it's a Perception check. You need min +4.

Tavern completely fills the MP, not just +1. You can (ab)use this when failing all checks with Lelianna: go to tavern, fill up, go back to where you were and complete the mission.

Ah, the square in Contract 1 only provides +1. Didn't know The Tavern was total refill, thanks! (y)

I don't get much time to play games - and since I have had a PC die - I have had to start over with every game I have played (yes I know you had to restart after 7.0, but still, others I have had to restart as well where it was not required).

My thoughts:
  • I like the new mission system. While it is different than the previous - I am not scared of change. It took me a few times to understand what is going on, how to actually win, etc. but that is like a new person in the criminal life - so it was like an immersion for me. Once I knew what was going on - oh yeah - sweet, that worked well.
  • I think the hint system is perfect in the journal. I never was like "WTF do I need to do next". I could go to the journal and it was all there.
  • The writing has always been top notch for this game. Yes there are a few typos here and there and misspellings, but doesn't seriously harsh my buzz or immersion in the game. I don't know how much this dev makes or if this a full time job, etc. Don't care, it is a lot of work, and I cut people slack when they obviously are trying.
  • The story is a thriller/mystery story, with a little bit of erotic/porn in it. You are not showing up as a new guy and all 4 girls drop their panties for you. I love it. Every game is different. This game is not a load and wank fest, it is a story with erotic elements.
  • I have never done a monthly Patreon but have considered it for a few games. I have played hundreds of games on this site over the years and that number is now at 4 that I would consider (If I were not worried about credit card fraud on Patreon - damn cyber security background). What I do, is use a burner card, and when a game is finished, sign up with devs for a completed game at like a $25 level for a month to congratulate devs that I appreciate.
Keep up the good work.

no idea whether the problem arises with others or not but when I go to the scenereplay gallery I am always brought back to the start.
clean start without old saves and older persistent file.

the new contracts are, well i don't know yet whether I like them or not...time will tell.
but i miss any older ones(guard, fight and so on), maybe they probably still have to be adapted to the new system.
and a rollback function would be very helpful in the contracts, not that helpful things are overlooked when clicking on.

I mean to remember that one could read books in the laptop to improve his skills.
is there a reason that this was taken out?

Disregarding all complaints relating to the Contracts, I actually found the story in The Painter to be quite touching.
Good job there! (y)
