Vanilla fans would obviously want them to have a better relationship.
Sharing fans want the couples relationship to be better anyway.
NTR fans should want them to have a closer relationship because it makes betrayals more intense.

But I meant all of this for the proper cheating route. Bobby did say there would be consequences for Luke cheating on Kathryn - that Kathryn would cheat on Luke in return. My simple hope was that Kathryn develops an emotional connection while cheating, which would further complicate the situation. Raises the stakes, if you ask me - either Luke turns his life around and does everything in his power to repair his relationship with Kathryn, or he loses her to the other man.

Well, the stakes rise for both when Kathryn cheats - especially if both of them are silently aware of the other's infidelity. I was talking from Luke's POV because he's the one pushing Kathryn to be more sexually open, but then goes behind her back and sleeps with other women? That is even more a scumbag move than just plain ol' cheating.And what of stakes for Kathryn's action?

Agreed. Home Prisoner definitely has a dark vibe to it. The problem is the pace. It's mind numbingly slow. Might be 2 years years before we see any action.

Yeah it wouldn't make sense for a casual partner but someone she keeps going back for more especially on a cheating path it would make sense.
I could see it working even on a non-cheating path, the problem is there's too much of an ntr fandom amongst the player base for it to be handled in a mature way.
By that I mean - take a swinging couple, it's reasonable that over time one of couple's external paramours develops stronger feelings. However, instead of that person coming to the significant other (Kath in this case), and discussing it with them and how they should proceed, devs have a strong business interest in making sure stories don't go that way.

Yeah for me it takes either good facial expressions or writing for me to really feel for the characters. While there are a few things I don't love in the writing Bobby does a amazing job at writing when it comes to the actual relationship or Kathryn teasing.

This is my favorite kink and it's so bloody rare. Simply put I enjoy most when MC is loyal and treats his spouse well, but despite these perfect relationship conditions the spouse cheats secretly (willingly, because of lust or to gain advantage in her or MC's life). Then if MC knows later it's fine, but I prefer if spouse still thinks MC doesn't know.Cant kath cheat without our bf turn into bad boy
The issue is developers choose to give flaws to game to "justify" the cheating, like MC must cheat too or become asshole to spouse or go impotent/lose sex drive, or spouse gets blackmailed, or MC finds out and is devastated (this is ok for plot point, but not for continuous application).
So far this game have decent middle ground of what would be my ideal and what would be my "red flag" of the kinks involved. Could go either way, but I am still invested enough to see where it leads. What really carries this game is fantastic environment, characters and decent writing it's just that I don't walways agree of how things play out or how characters react to certain things, but that's just my opinion.

Exactly, Kathryn would have a "preference" for one of her NTR partners, and the more time she spends with him, the closer they get... Luke needs to get his shit together before some irrevocable feelings develop. That would be intense.
