Thats fine for people who don't support the dev financially but I would bet there are people on this forum that do. You think its right that people who are PAYING for the product by donating to the dev should just patiently wait? I mean that certainly is an option but if I were a dev telling people when an update would come out or even if I didn't give a date why would I want to piss of people who currently donate or are considering donating by taking forever. That is a sure fire way to lose support and once support is lost its hard to get back. Bras are easy to replace, getting people back after screwing them over is not. A good dev communicates and gives a decent timeframe. This dev was awesome in the beginning in my view and has really slowed down and I think that makes people worried that this dev like so many others is going to just shit on the people who supported them.

Honestly what idiots on this site don't get is this is free advertising, its a way for devs to get known and for prospective players to test things out to see if they want to support certain products. There have been a lot of devs who simply abandon their games or take forever to get anywhere after people have given them money.... or do you think those people who gave money should not expect anything for that money?

People on Patreon aren't paying for a product, they are donating to support the dev and if they have a problem with dev times then they should unsubscribe.

People just like to whine and complain.

When you ask for update - you tell a dev that you in need of it. And dev getting calm, because he feel that you felt in dependence from a game already. So devs is not working, why should he, if you arlredy belongs to him, and when you ask for an update - all you constantly get instead are delays only. Don't you get it? Be smart. ^_^ Do the opposite. Tell that you don't want the update at all. Write that you want the delay, not the update. Tell him that if an update will appear too soon you will be unhappy because of it. Don't give money to dev, ask money from dev for you to download his update. That's how it works. Psychology. If you want to know more about how to treat devs right to get what you want - order my book "how to treat devs right to get what you want", special edition, with arts, pictures, and list of hipnotic pharases of how to make any dev sick from not doing his job and milking donaters for nothing. Not an ad, cuz book don't exist. But we all need that book, because just paying to devs for getting updates in time doesn't wok, obviously.

then you are missing the point, if you say; if they have a problem with the development time of the game, then let them unsubscribe, that they like to whine and complain, you are wrong, one because it is their money, and they are investing to see the product, your point is right in saying, that the donors do not own the game but they are investing to see the product.

I agree with Joshy92 , Patreon is setup as a way to provide ongoing support for creators, even in the periods when they aren't sharing substantive content.

There are some people that use it like a storefront, treating the pledge as a purchase price to get the new content then immediately ending their pledge once the download is complete.
There's nothing wrong with that per se, but if you're gonna do it then you need to be a smart consumer about it. Don't preorder Patreon content, wait 'til it's out... then pledge.

I'm in the second bracket i found this game on this site and used to pledge the 15$ when the content released(i never have an ongoing sub because i find that that fosters complacency). And honestly there are just too many bad apples to be doing that. Not saying that this dev is one but there has definitely been a downward trend happening(this is not counting the Halloween special).

This dev at the start was amazing and now it feels like it's slowly degrading over time. I really hope i'm wrong but it's starting to show a pattern that so many promising games showed before.

While I agree in principle I think devs would actually rather have people complain to them than take the other route which would be them ceasing support. It also shows that people are invested in his game.

I say, and i quote myself that
paying to devs for getting updates in time doesn't wok
If you don't know any word from that sentence - feel free to ask. I will gladly teach you some ABC, if you missed that classes. ^_^
In short - this game constantly creating delays to provide updates. And no matter if you paid for it or not - it changes nothing. Delays are many, updates are few. If anyone have any thoughts of how to fix it, feel free to suggest. Idk. I just see that giving money is not an option here. That's it.

I been a Patreon supporter since The East Block came out, and it's still awesome and one of my favorite VN games out there! I still support the Dev's work as I support many creative Dev artists that I like. Some people don't understand that creative works are not as simple when it comes to VN games with different paths and choices vs a kinetic novel, and sometimes the work can take longer than anticipated. Either way, if you enjoy the Dev's work give him support if you can, if not then simply wait until the game is publicly available. Cheers! ;)

If you like the game so much, you must know it well, right? So could you please write a straight answer for one simple question about the game and your comment to it, like - where on Earth have you seen MANY different pathS there? We all can clearly see that this game's scenario is linear as a line. Whatever choices you make - it changes nothing significant there. Probably there should be different endings after all. But as for now - there are no any pathS. Just The Path, one and only. You can't replay the game to choose different options and see other scenes. All you can do by making choices - is:
- to see the next scene, one and the same scene, whatever you chosen in dialogs before;
- or not to see next scene, one and the same again.
That doesn't fit to definition of "creative work under VN game with different paths". So, am sorry, but you don't look like a fan, if you don't ever tried to replay "one of your favorite games" to figure out that there still no pathS there, because most of dialog options providing fake choices.

First off, your comment is rude and I certainly don't have to answer to trolls, but I will entertain you this one time. While the choices are limited in the storyline, you cannot disregard the creative works and effort that goes into making the VN game. Can there be more complex choices and paths - sure, but this is what it is and if you don't like it DON'T play it and move on, especially if this bothers you. There are many VN games out there that may be to your liking.

As for me being a "fan" well, I'm actually a Patreon supporter and have been since the VN game came out. If I didn't enjoy the VN Game and the Dev's work, I wouldn't support the game, experience it or play it. It's that simple. If you find this hard to understand, then that's on you. I can't help that. As for my definition that his work is creative is well noted and I stand by everything I wrote, and if you don't like it and disagree that's fine, now you can move on and find something useful to do instead of trolling VN games and Devs on here. Lastly, the VN game is fiction so of course the choices are fake... lol! :ROFLMAO:

If you are so particular about what type of VN game you like, I strongly suggest you create your own game. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to the next chapter of The East Block! Cheers! ;-)

I agree dude and besides just because there aren't any consequences for our choices yet doesn't mean there won't be any. Heck I love East block so much I created a new patreon account after I vowed never to return to that platform.
