I don't understand, how you don't see, that everything Kathryn does on the sharing/netorase route is itself a major character change for Kathryn? She's started sleeping with other men besides her boyfriend for god's sake, and she's loving it. The monogamous, sexually conservative character who started this game, is transforming into a nympho slut, who's willing to have sex with complete strangers she's just met, including a hobo in a dirty alleyway. That in itself, is a major character change, regardless of whether it's on a netorase or netorare route.

So why is it, so difficult for you to believe that Kathryn would suddenly start cheating on Luke, which basically just equates to her failing to ask his permission first, before she does something she's going to do anyway, when Luke says it's ok? It's just her deciding to do, what he's been doing the entire game. The major character change, is her deciding to have sex with other men, which has already happened. And her deciding not to confide in Luke before the event, will simply be the natural consequence of his failure to be honest with her.

We have different view points is all. I see her the change you are talking about as a journey her and Luke are going through together as team. But I do not see it as her being corrupted or turning into a slut at all really. Maybe light corruption at the very most. Since to me corruption implies she is turning into a slut and I dont see her as one , rather I see her as someone that has opened her self up sexuality more so yeah that would be a small form of corruption just not full blown corruption to me.

I see her as someone that is willing to express her self sexual more more because Luke wants and she has fun teasing other guys. I just don't see it as a big enough change in her character for her to become some kind of cheater even on the NTR path other than maybe a few times. I see her maybe cheating on that path then regretting it right after unless she goes through another character change.

Just cause she is more open up to her sexuality now doesn't mean she is going to change her personality to become a cheater. Which is why I feel something needs to change like expressing her feeling in such a way that she doesn't love Luke anymore , Klem talking her into becoming a slut , the drugs something because I see as someone that will regret it not keep doing it.

Can we stop calling Kathryn a slut simply because she is exploring her sexuality?

100% agree I hate that term even in these games tbh ever since my view point has change I see less characters as a slut unless they are like Klem or Rikia ( think that is her name)

You seem to be looking at this entirely from your perspective, where Luke isn't cheating, and him and Kathryn continue doing stuff on a mutual basis. In that instance, yeah Kathryn isn't going to change as significantly as I'm suggesting, because she's on a totally different path, where she's never going to be hurt and betrayed by Luke.

Yes, she's in love with Luke, but when you suddenly discover that this person who you thought you knew so well, is actually this other person, who's been lying to your face and betraying that love with multiple other people, that is a very big shock to the system. And all you might want to do, is make them feel the same hurt, humiliation and sense of betrayal that you're now feeling. So don't you think that is a big enough change to Kathryn's personality, where her love is (potentially) suddenly transformed into pure hatred? Different people respond differently to that situation. And I think for someone like Kathryn, who has trusted her partner so implicitly. Once that trust is shattered, she might want to make Luke suffer.

Plus, you need to factor in, that there are other players in this game, who will probably take advantage of such a situation for their own personal reasons, like Luke and Kathryn's boss and Clem. So, it's not just a wronged woman deciding to make her partner feel how she's feeling, and then feeling guilty. It's all these other people, who no doubt will be telling her, she's entirely justified in making him continue to suffer, to further their own agendas. Kathryn is quite a trusting girl. So when she starts to think she can't trust Luke anymore, who do you think she's going to ask advice from instead? It's gonna be her new friend Clem, who I suspect she won't initially find out, that Luke has been cheating with. And Clem will be keen to drive an even larger wedge between Kathryn and Luke, by persuading Kathryn to seek revenge, by sleeping around, just like Luke has been doing. This scenario is very obviously being set up, and I just don't see it, not playing out on Luke's cheating route.

And let's face it, lots of players will just want Kathryn to cheat on Luke, for it's own sake. If this game was following the pattern you suggest, why include Luke's cheating route at all? That's there entirely for all those people who want to see this relationship going down a dark path. It's not there to supplement the mutual arrangement that you seem to favour, where Luke and Kathryn end up as a loving couple, simply exploring their sexuality. It's their specifically so they can get really fucked up, which is the reality of a netorare relationship.

I do agree with Clem and others will be the one to push her to that sort of thing. The only thing I am even arguing which you seem to either overlook from my post. Is how I am saying I don't think she would be the type of person to do it more than once or twice without some kind of change from someone like Clem. I just can't see her doing it more than a few times on that path without feeling some kind of regret no matter if she feels hurt and betrayed , without some sort of character change like what you suggest from Clem.

I never was arguing she wouldn't do it without a character change once she finds out about Luke cheating on her on that path. I only was arguing she would keep cheating over and over on that path. At least without going through some kind of character change like from Clem pushing her , having a realization ( her inner thoughts) or something. She seems to nice and naive of a girl to not feel some regret to keep doing it without changing in some way.

Personally for a cheating path I would like 2 separate cheating branches tho it is unrealistic as it would mean longer dev time. One where Clem talks to her after cheating once for revenge and you as the player are able to go along with what Clem suggest , don't break up with Luke and keep cheating. Another after cheating once she can break up with Luke and has fun as a single girl till the end of the game.

Isn't that the problem? So many people are so convinced Kathryn is this pure girl, who would never be nasty and vindictive. And totally ignoring the monster, that jealousy and betrayal can turn any woman into. If that never happens, her life follows a totally different trajectory, and she remains the trusting and loving person she's always been. But on the cheating route, that's all about to be swept away, because the person she trusts and loves the most, is callously trampling on all her illusions.

Come on Joshy, you know full well, that in these types of games, calling a woman a slut is not meant as a slur. In real life, being a slut has negative connotations, but in adult games, it's virtually a badge of honour.

I'm with Joshy on this, I don't particularly enjoy LIs being called sluts. I'ts a game and make believe and all that jazz. Games still reflect reality to a degree. But, let's see a show of hands, all the guys who would appreciate another guy to walk up to his GF/wife and call her a slut.

The thing about Luke is, for the most part, he doesn't need to cheat on Kathryn. All he needs to do is tell her what he's getting up to, just like she's doing with him. But for some reason he deliberately decides to keep it to himself, so in effect he's cheating on her. I guess the thrill of doing something wrong, just makes it more exciting for him, and that's why he never tells her, even though a part of him knows it's the right thing to do.

tbh I think more of the issue with calling a fictional character a slut is it ruins the image they have in their head especially if it's a character they love. As well as it can be seen as a negative thing to say especially if someone likes said character.

At least that's why I hate it not to mention everyone has a different definition when one starts to be a slut and one isn't. So I find it real easy to hate that term even in a video game when a character doesn't do anything id consider being a slut. Not to mention to me usually it feels like something these characters wouldn't like to be called one most of the time depending on the character and context of course.

But of course you are right some people actually like that. Like me for instance I like it in the bedroom or if a character might act a little slutty towards the MC or other guys before a sex scene happens. However outside of that I don't like it so much. To me it's a very opinionated word , which is why I try my best not to use it when possible especially when I hate it at times.

maybe, it does set these variables for the first time, so they will be probably used down the line. Whatever choice you make sets that variable to 1 and the others to 2, so it's not a point system I think.
