Subscription is not a great model for a VN or game.
Personally I see it as a hustle if they don't provide either a one-off purchase at the end or a 1 unit/mth option.

It is strange that this particular update has taken so much time since if remember the initial updates were relatively quick.
Agree, it pushes devs to stall/delay as much as possible and effectively punishes faster devs

He's said chapter 7 is going to be beefier than previous chapters (more scenes and renders)
Some people prefer more dev time if it means more and greater variety of content for their play time, some people prefer shorter dev time even if the portions are smaller because they don't have these long gaps in between - what's not good is this inconsistency. If you start with 5 weeks between chapters 1 and 2 then 5 months between Halloween event and chapter 7...not ideal.

Exactly. Constantly varying the dev time is a bad habit to catch.
I have especially learned to hate any form of Seasonal Specials in AVNs, because most of them are used as scapegoats for delaying development of the main game. I understand they serve as good creative breaks for the developers, but they always end up costing more than they're worth.

The update will release to loyalty tier first for a week. To get loyalty tier you need to have been a Patreon supporter for at least 6 months and $100 over that time. I seriously doubt loyalty tier people will leak the game.
Personally I prefer to support my favourite developers by "buying" updates when they come out, provided of course they are worth the money. I rarely support over a long period of time.
