Hey everyone, it's time for another dev log!
So, the infamous Chapter 7 has finally been released! Thankfully, most of you seemed happy with it, which was a huge relief. Before diving into what’s next, I want to take a moment to reflect on the last dev cycle and shed some light on what went wrong and why it ended up taking so long.
The biggest issue? Poor planning.
At the start of development, I jumped right in, excited and motivated, creating scenes and rendering before I properly tested everything. I bought a bunch of assets without checking if they worked well together. Spoiler: they didn’t. My hardware struggled with the environments, HDRIs, and various other assets. This led to constant crashes, painfully slow renders, and just an overall frustrating experience. Production in those first two months was brutally slow.
The technical issues completely derailed my creative workflow. I was so bogged down trying to fix things that it became hard to focus on the actual storytelling. Once I got things somewhat stable, I realized another problem: the chapter was too long and had way too many scenes. I decided to cut it down and focus on just a few key scenes but then it felt too short and unfinished. And despite having a ton of renders, they weren’t being used efficiently; many were only on screen for a moment or two. All of this boiled down to a lack of storyboarding and proper project management.
And then came the content concerns.
After finally putting a rough version together, I had a few friends in the industry give it a look. The consensus? Some of the content was too extreme for platforms like Patreon andYou must be registered to see the links. I reached out to a couple others for feedback, and they agreed, it needed to be toned down. Now, I know some of you are probably thinking, “But I want the uncut version!” Trust me, I get it. But after playing both the original and the edited versions, I genuinely think the changes made the story stronger. Some of the over-the-top moments just didn’t fit the tone of the game and came off as a bit jarring, even silly.
Add in the usual life distractions and personal delays, and you’ve got a perfect storm of setbacks. But now, Chapter 7 is done and dusted, and I’ve learned a lot from the chaos. It’s time to reset and get back on track with Chapter 8.
About the timeline.
I’m not going to be sharing specific release dates anymore. I know we all love having something to look forward to, but after what happened with this last release, I think it’s healthier to just say: “It’ll be ready when it’s ready.” That said, I’m aiming to return to my usual three-month release cycle, so ideally sometime in August—but no promises.
I took a few days off last week for a mini vacation with my family, and it was exactly what I needed. A chance to unwind, recharge, and come back feeling refreshed. Now I’m excited to dive into Chapter 8.
Here’s what to expect.
Kathryn will be front and center in this chapter (I know a lot of you will be happy about that). The dancing scene with Pat is going to be a highlight, and I can’t wait for you to see it. It’ll vary quite a bit depending on whether Luke joins the outing, along with several other choices that will have major consequences for the story moving forward. There will be four other scenes in this chapter as well, and I’ll be posting teasers in the coming months for those who enjoy sneak peeks.

yeah but I still put Santi as the worst , since he is a crazed murder where Kat works. The landlord then maybe Franklin depend on Franklin next move if im worried about them or Santi more. Right now it depends on what Franklin does more if worry about the human trafficking more or not. As of right now the Landlord doesn't know anything about Kat knowing and I assume Clem knows or is involved as well and she seems to like Kat and Luke. So i'm really not worried just yet. Far as I know Franklin could be involved and all but then try to help Kat out or keep it a secret or something. I mean yeah it's very unlikely but there is still a chance. so it's just too early for me to say the Landlord and Franklin is worst compared to a crazed murder that has connections.

I quite like that skirt and top combo on her. And obviously, it's the perfect outfit for this type of game, with that type of slimeball visiting.
Agreed - not a fan of the character, but a fan of the situation, which could be quite hot. I have a save specifically for this type of scenario, so I've already made the "sure, take my girlfriend/fiancée dancing, I'll stay at home and read a book" option there.
Nate could have been a good character, but the "skeezebag" part you mention prevents that for me. I know what we're going for in this type of game (or at least, what we have an option to go for), but I just don't like his type of lecherous character in it. Trying to get in Kathryn's knickers by seducing her is hot, trying to get into her knickers by tricking her is I don't know, lazy, perhaps? It just doesn't have nearly the same impact for me.
The initial meeting at the park bench was okay to a point, but then probably a bit much by the end of it, but the "oh no, my model has let me down, you're going to have to get naked and suck my dick on camera instead" photoshoot just had no hotness for me, where it could have been hot if it was handled in a different way. (I understand how it would be hot for others, so I'm only speaking for myself here, which should always be obvious anyway.)
First: she looks amazing in that outfit. I hope there is some heels or elevates shoes so the legs look great when spread and in the air.

The outfits from her photoshoot perhaps? I'm pretty sure it was a case of "you can keep everything" (like they always are) but I don't recall if we specifically saw them leaving, and therefore if they took the outfits with them at the time. Other than that, I think he's supposed to be bringing a bottle, which none of those bags are really suitable for.

Like dev's worry about something like bag suitability, he will definitely bring booze. A tipsy or drunk Kath will be more likely to fool around. Or he will make Luke pass out drunk, so that he can have his way with Kath? Seems like something he would do.

I hope it isn't a flashback 2.0 don't get me wrong the flashback was hot but would hate it so much for a NTS scene. NTR maybe i'll be fine with i'll have to see how hot it is by doing some research.
Outfits would be great - just imagine the event consisting of Kat trying on different things (which is enjoyable enough on its own to see, and as they get skimpier and skimpier.... Luke starts thinking.... maybe I should just go for it...

I really hope the latter isn't what happens, that would be a lame ass ntr copout to what was otherwise a hot buildup. Ofc, we could both be off and they end up double teaming her. Given the place we're at in the story sex-progression-wise, an mmf might be quite appropriate; particularly since the first isnt with total strangers or weirdos.

I'm thinking it had to be maybe some kind of rape scene with Rebecca and the goons before Santi arrived. Since that was an already dark scene and if it had to be toned I just can't see it being any of the beach ones. or the basement with Franklyn would be my 2nd guess.

Could just be me but Nate has never really given me the impression that he is up for sharing Kath with Luke. He seems more like a Mr. Steal your girl type, who wants Kath for himself. Someone up for sharing would surely make more of an effort to befriend Luke, certainly not blackmail him.
I can see the game making more of a shift towards NTR if I'm honest. Or at least there being a split depending on player choices, but the fact that Luke feels some guilt for cheating at the end of the last update even if he hasn't doesn't give me much hope.

I'm thinking the most likely thing (depending on previous choices with Claire at least), is a coerced sharing. Nate pressures Luke into letting him do stuff with Kathryn, or pressures him into pushing Kathryn to do stuff with Nate (same outcome, slightly different steps) on the threat of exposing Luke's cheating if he doesn't. (And I mean sharing as in letting someone else fool around with your girl, not sharing as in threesome, because I also don't think Nate wants Luke involved.)
Alternatively, Nate will suggest playing spin the bottle, since we've not had that in this game yet...
