Dev Log - September 2nd, 2025
Hey guys, it's time for another dev log!
This one will be a bit shorter, not because nothing’s happening, but because most of my time this week has been spent polishing and backtracking. My animation workflow and skills have improved a lot recently, which means some of the earlier content from this update cycle was starting to look a little uneven compared to the newer stuff. Rather than let the quality dip, I went back and re-did certain pieces so the whole update feels consistent.
It’s one thing to revisit older chapters and improve them later on, but when the quality varies within a single update, it really stands out. So while forward progress slowed a bit, the end result will be much stronger.
On the bright side, this update is shaping up to be animation-heavy. Not necessarily packed with “action” sequences, but full of motion that makes scenes feel more alive and expressive. I’m getting very efficient with this workflow, so you can expect to see a lot more animation going forward.
Progress
Images: 647 / ~850
️ Animations: 90 / ? (still climbing!)
Coding: 4.5 / 6 scenes
Extras: Optimized animation handling in the frame buffer for smoother performance
Release Outlook
I’m still aiming to have the first release out this month, that’s the goal! This update has been storyboarded more thoroughly to balance pacing, so scenes shouldn’t feel bloated or too thin. From quick playthroughs I’ve done, the flow is looking really solid.
No guarantees (as always), but I'm hoping to get the first alpha release out later this month. Things will become clearer as development continues, but I’m optimistic.
Thanks again for your amazing support — it really keeps me motivated. Wishing you all a great week, and I’ll be back soon with more posts! For now I'll leave you with two animations and a render from chapter 8. *The two animations were made using a combination of rendered images and custom trained AI.*
