I'm tempted to revise my review down a star, for the fact that the 'Maid of Orocella' quest softlocks you after you complete every part of it (
so if you really want that maid outfit, enjoy Alt-F4'ing every couple of minutes). And if this quest freezes the game,
then who knows what other quests will do the same thing later down the line? Here's all the broken quest lines I've found so far that force you to restart the game to continue:
- Maid of Orocella (gives the normal and exposed maid outfits)
- Confession (gives a skimpier version of Lumina's default outfit)
- Dance of Goddess (gives the bunny girl outfit)
- For the Glory of the Gladiator (gives the "gladiator" outfit in the last slot)
On the other hand, I finally figured out skills—turns out that as you progress, you get
a lot of the 'Goddess Spar' items. So the "levels" for skills aren't actually levels, but the required number of Goddess Spars you need to unlock the skill. Then it'll give you the option to "resonate with imaginary" or "resonate with reality" (
basically bind it to your Q or E buttons respectively). Also, you can have two of the same skill in either button, and they
don't share a cooldown... and there are some really strong skills later down the line, like the Sunfire Slash or the Healing Field.
And speaking of the Healing Field, I found a neat glitch: if a healing ability you activated triggers immediately after you die (
again, easiest with an active Healing Field), you just get right back up as if nothing happened. If you're doing a battle challenge to unlock a chest, the enemies will immediately despawn when this happens. The only problem then is that the "press Enter to return to the Tower of Avrendite [sic]" prompt comes up, and if you enter a menu, you won't be able to back out
until you hit Enter.
...still not that great a game, though. It's fraught with plenty of game-breaking bugs, and some of the enemies just get stupidly powerful like the Velociraptors. Just one hit from them at the stage of the game I'm at is enough to take off a fifth of my health bar, and they're one of the enemies that's resistant to knockback and hitstun. Absolute pain in the ass to deal with, especially when you still only have green weapons (
and functionally no armor).
