lol please, you clearly activated the cheat codes, it's literally impossible to accumulate 42 total levels of vigor -I reckon the actual number is probably less than one third of that number.

There are cheat codes in this game?
The only thing I found out that could be causing this is going to read about characters when you are on a page right at the time you gain a point. The game keeps adding points when you click 'return'.

But that's not intentional cheating, that's bad coding.

I stumbled upon this thread and tried out The Night Muse. Honestly, as someone who likes CYOA-style stories this game is crazy good that I'm left speechless. If the author/creator had an itch.io page for the finished product instead of Patreon as it seems to be very sparse I would have actually bought it.
