Don't think about it too hard. Monica's healing potions cost 5, Aoife's trash romance novel cost 5, furnishing Maria's room cost 1. Karla's shop cost 400. Athagan's book (which nobody else could even open) cost a lot. Her maj throws around 1 and 10 THOUSAND gold bonuses for good work. MC won a couple hundred large from betting on a fistfight and the winter queen's ransom was half a mil. There's just not enough data points there to deduce the entire economy.

Well, for most things I try to use DnD prices, divided by ten. Of course, I also try to adjust to the setting itself. Food cost more, the shop was less since Wildale has a hard time attracting people, for example. Sariel has a tendency to reward the party very handsomely because it's lead by the son of her best friend, and her "son-in-law", too. As for the fistfight, the MC bet a lot, and the odds were that high because Aeris never lost before and is big as fuck compared to Cinthia. Fun fact, sometimes I can't decide how an event will unfold, and I just throw a dice like in TTRPGs. In that fight, IIRC, the DC was 16...and Cinthia rolled a 19.

The orphanage, honestly the MC don't think much about it. He don't want to be paid to marry a woman, and he tought that Avila's idea of gifting money to the orphanage was fantastic. Solah is planning on rebuilding the orphanage totally, since the building is very old.

Bro you REALLY gotta STOP throwing every bit of gold that the pc doesn't want at the orphanage. Right now I'm half expecting to walk in there and see the place decked out like a royal palace. I realize that you are trying to present the pc in a good light. But surely there have to be OTHER good causes .. right?

Well, he just started a project for a free school available to everyone, too.

Because obviously you are so dumb that this obviously highly lolworthy take is completely serious and now you're OBVIOPUSLY backpedalling because I'm not going to be cheated out of talking down my nose at you' guys .. Those guys are lame. That take was an obvious joke based on the idea that the orphanage should be visibly showing it's new found wealth and you know it.

This is as point of fact one of my favorite visual novels on the site recently. But I did feel I had to comment because the orphanege spending is getting .. excessive. And I used in world gold valuations to back that up. Not because I am actually MAD about it. But because I think this is a funny derpy plothole. You don't have to take everything I said as some sort of huge criticism. It is, in the end a very inconsequential plotpoint. But I find the idea of you going through the gates in the orphanage and it's like some kind of heavenly palace in there kind of comical.

As someone so clearly pointed out the author also obviously realizes this as I just got to end of content and they are setting up a school. I have this funny headcannon where Solah aproached Athagan behing the mc's back and is like .. Milord, While we appreciate the MC's wholehearted support of our efforts in Ishtar's name we are running out of uses for this massive pile of gold he has dumptrucked to our door. Therefore we ask that you kindly redirect his philanthropy to less solvent causes or new projects.' And that is the whole reason Athagan even had this conversation with you.

Yep .. that is an accurate description of trolling. However that is not what I did. Seems there's a certain subset of people that think that saying anything negative, even in a joking way about something they like was done specifically to illicit a response from them. A negative response. And won't accept any clarification or take anything lightheartedly. That isn't being trolled. It's being paranoid and egomaniacal. It's not about you. It's not about illiciting a response from you. It's just poking a little light hearted fun at some aspects of the game.

If I wanted to troll. I would have continued to double down and find fault with other aspects of the game. Especially seeing as just TOUCHING the .. apparently surprisingly sacred cow yielded such unexpected results. Why would I even have claimed to be joking when what was I doing was getting you all mad just fine? I wouldn't have tried to explain myself. And I certainly wouldn't be explaining THIS. And I ONE THOUSAND PERCENT would not write a comment like the one you quoted. This isn't trolling it's just banter. And there's nothing more infuriating than someone with no ability to banter. Not really. The whole thing basically started because someone didn't take my word for it when i clarified that I was just joking around. There's an infuriating habit some people have of putting words in others mouth. And it often comes from their own desire to win an argument with the imaginary thought process they have imposed on someone else.

And this is something that completely without irony or humor .. does make me angry. I don't like it when other people assume my intent or project some kind of image of me that I've given them no basis for. So yeah I was determiend not to simply let them get away with it.

I totally appreciate that there are some people that are like 'it's just a prank bro' when they get caught out. But you can't just assume someone you are needling is doing that just because it suits your own need to 'win the argument'. That kind of behaviour infuriates me and I have a hard time letting it slide. As for the comment you yourself quoted i just thought it was funny that my lighthearted joke about the matron provoked such serious rebuttal. I was actually flabberghasted that people thought I was being serious about that. But I do get that the short form of that response maybe put some peoples backs up and I'm sorry about that. But it's also the kind of thing anyone with the actual intent to troll would never post as it would make what they are doing way too obvious.

However I do want to impress on people that these are the pitfalls of communicating soley with text. People should be very, VERY careful about assuming the intent of others. As you are missing any queue's from voice or facial expression. And even reactions are often misinterpreted. For example the person I was arguing with did a laugh reaction on my post. Which I initially thought was him laughing WITH me .. not AT me. There's no harm in asking for clarification or feeling someone out first. But there's a lot of harm in doubling down in the face of that clarification.

I do think it's kind of funny how everything turned out. I'm only human and no saint. So yes I found the sudden accusations of trolling kinda funny I mean .. who wouldn't? And the dude upset me but I'm not going to take this little torch and carry it any further. It wouldn't be productive. But I just felt like I should remind people not to get sunk into putting their assumptions onto others. Especially in a format that's so very easy to misinterpret. You should give people the benefit of the doubt and accept clarification when it's offered.

It also does the developer no good to drown any negative feedback in accusations of 'trolling'. I kind of deliberately take a joking tone when giving negative feedback but that's because as a developer I know full well that hearing things being said negatively about your work .. sucks. Even though you need it. And I like to try and soften the blow and make it less of a big deal. Make it sound less like a direct attack on their creation. But you can also infer that any game I have taken the time to give negative feedback I actually rate quite highly. I don't waste my time on garbage.

Anyway this will be my last wall of text on this subject .. I appreciate it's kind of a whopper. But I didn't wanna have to say anything about it again. As for proof, That's only really neccessary if you need to win. I don't need to win. I only came this far because someone was arguing in extremely bad faith. If after all that you still believe I'm stirring shit there's really nothing else to say. It isn't going to hurt me or ruin my day. I've made my case as well as I can and that's where it ends. beliving it or not is up to the reader really.
