It seems to be a compatibility bug with older versions. I can suggest you to upload your save files here, we'll fix them and send them back to you

For now, it's only in the Patreon version. Wait for the next updates ;)
P.S. Toad Eirik is really funny =D

Is this the lastest version because on the Patreon it is a different version number also different than on itch.

My little eye spotted a short discussion about pregnancy in the game end of 2023. Why not have a poll on Patreon to see if the supporters want that in the game?

It's actually easy to please both sides. Just made it toggable in the options and if it's set off you simply can't do those side quests.

This release features a HUGE gameplay update, so HUGE that the obsessive caps may seem excessive to you, but to us, having spent dozens of evenings working on this release, it seems insufficient =)

The Forgotten Island is now a NEW GAME, with almost everything changed except for the storyline!
  • The Combat System has been radically changed. Turn-based combat, where all battlers choose their actions at the beginning of the turn, has been replaced by turn-based combat based on initiative. Now, the agility stat is just as important as the attack stat, because the more agile a character is, the more often they will get a turn. This adds a new depth to combat. Now the game can depict a strong but slow opponent, or, conversely, a light and nimble one. There is now room for different skills that use this system. Nasty leeches can knock your characters to the bottom of the initiative scale with a special attack, and your character can not only buff their agility, but also spend only half of their normal turn to do so. More opportunities for fine-tuning, more opportunities for gameplay situations.
  • The List of Skills has been completely changed. No skills have been changed or recalculated—all skills are completely new! New skills for your characters, new skills for your opponents, dozens of new icons and descriptions as the tip of the iceberg, and a complex, interconnected system of numbers and effects as its body. We tried to make all the skills work together, create interesting game situations, generate challenges, and offer solutions. Some of them required us to significantly revise the code base, sometimes creating dozens of hours of work that seemed to come out of nowhere. But we didn’t give up and continued to make a game that would be fun to play, not just one that was easy to make.
  • The Equipment has been completely changed. Once again, all the equipment in the game has been changed. There are dozens of new items that you will gradually gain access to. It should become more diverse, allow you to customize your play style to some extent, and be more essential overall. Previously, you could play through the entire game without noticing it, using the sword you picked up at the beginning. Now that’s not the case. MORE LOOT!
  • New Items - New Economy. Mobs now drop gold, which can be used to buy weapons. Previously, earning money in the game was a bit like hacking. You know what I mean about the garden. We hope that now everything will feel more balanced.
  • The Farm has also been redesigned. The crazy effects from grown vegetables have been weakened, and prices have been revised.
  • The Experience Curve for characters has been revised, the loot in chests has been revised, and a new cutscene after battle with Bittern will help you not get lost in the swamps. Ulfa helps you search for Ghost Flowers for her transformation into a dog (this is a new companion with her own skills!) - all of this falls under the category of “minor changes”!
  • Tutorial. You’ve already seen the Bunny - now there’s a lot more of her! At the beginning of the game, there are several scenes with her where she teaches the player a new combat system.
  • Save transfer! We have created a small utility that will help you transfer your old saves to the new version. You don’t need to do anything, just import your saves as usual (or copy everything to the save folder as before). Do everything as usual, launch your old save, and that’s it. The game will recognize that it’s a previous version, recalculate your and your companions’ levels, give you the necessary skill set, provide you with the current equipment, and add 200 gold to your account for your trouble.

Nice. Combat is hard to balance and these changes are looking interesting.
