Finding good NTR is hard. Oh man oh boy oh man! I could talk about why and how I like my NTR until the cows come home... AND I THINK I WILL!
NTR can be enjoyed in so many ways, from a pure cheating angle where the husband or boyfriend or whomsoever is getting netorared behind their back, completely unaware, to the much more open cuckoldry resembling incarnation where the NTR is basically in the open and the husband/BF/whatever just has nothing he can do about it. The anguish just fuels me.

My favorite however is an extended NTR story that takes it really goddamn slow. The slower the burn, the better the taste. There's nothing quite like seeing a pure and loving relationship become twisted. First secretively and becoming more and more obvious as time goes on, until one day it's just too late. The psychological aspect is really important to me in NTR as well! It's fine and dandy if some dude fucks a guys girlfriend, but if it all ends happily with the couple being just fine, I just flip the table and walk off with blue balls.

No no no... What I want is the absolute decimation of the characters egos. The girl, turning from a genuine lover, to a reluctant victim, to a active seeker of immorality, and in best cases... In a torturous story, I love it when the girl comes to hate their former lover. To despise them for their weakness. The failure to save her. There is nothing sweeter than immersing myself in a NTR story and experiencing that bottomless well of hate and despair from all the points of view. From the BFs position of complete failure as a man, as a HUMAN BEING. From the girls, her love turning to hate and absolute disgust of such weakness and her embrace of her NEW LOVE for... The NTR perpetrator. The sadistic glee and absolute dominance of sexual conquest. Reveling in all these feelings just warms up that shriveled up blood pump in my chest... A heart, I think it's called.

Personally though, I get the greatest pleasure from the point of view of the husband/BF characters. The actual pornography is almost secondary to the feelings that I can experience by experiencing such a living nightmare. The best is when the NTR is unraveled slowly, like a mystery, where pieces of a puzzle fall into place slowly as the characters actions begin to reveal the dark happenings behind the facade of pure love. The sound of muffled moans behind locked doors, a flickering light escaping from under a door, excuses and lies delivered with fake smiles. There's nothing better.

Technically some of these aren't netorare. Netorare is the english equivalent of cheating, infidelity, adultery, or unfaithfulness. I might put cheating in parentheses next to NTR as I see this confusion a lot and I can see why as you have the traditional meaning of cuckold conflicting with cuckoldry as as a fetish. If anything some of these like Please Bang My Wife would be more in line with netorase or cuckoldry as a fetish since the abbreviation for netorase is NTRS. My favorite type are the ones where the wife/gf/mom is really pure and dedicated at the beginning, and slowly gets corrupted into finally losing all respect for her SO and talking shit about him. For the male perspective, I like it when there is a big climax with the reveal of the fallen girl.

Personally, I don't find swinging too arrousing. By extension, I don't really care for the NTR type that has the husband or boyfriend encouraging their girl to cuck him. Those lack the big payoff when the guy is totally devastated (although there are subtypes where things get out of hand and the guy loses the girl).

edit: I think dual protagonist POV works best for NTR. You could have a dominant perspective, but its important to delve into both parties' psychological state. For RPGM by far the hardest hitting NTR is Thug Hero Party and for VN I would say Kedamono.

To add to the thread, one of my recent favorite light novels is Overlord. A series falling in the dreaded isekai genre that's so prevelant these days. Ainz, the protagonist is thrust into a position of leadership when he finds his beloved VRMMO has come to life and all the NPC characters designed by him and his long departed guildies have gained sentience.

The series is vastly enjoyable to me with its breathing world that isn't a wooden set of cutouts like so many others these days. Ainz, has the ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE of his followers. They worship his every step and hold him up akin to a god. Two specific characters go so far as to wish to be his concubines, Albedo and Shalltear. It's a very enjoyable subject of bitchy bickering, considering that Ainz is a skeleton in the first place.

My point is, these two, above all others love Ainz with all their black hearts. The one thing these human slaughtering monsters care about in the world. Now... Wouldn't it be JUST DELICIOUS if that was stolen away?

As Overlord is one of my favorite light novels, this NTR burns just right. I keep imagining a continuation where the corruption continues deeper and deeper until everyone in Nazarick has betrayed Ainz and Zach sits upon his throne. This disgusting, wretch of a human that realistically would die with the flick of a finger, not to mention he actually died in the canon story. Canon-wise it's crazy, but that absolute betrayal in a setting where loyalty is such a ironclad thing just gets me so fucking hard.

Also as a side note, Enri Emmott and her goblin gang in Carne village. That shit is ripe for NTR. Nfirea is such a prime NTR victim.
