I understand the thought process and good intentions behind wanting second opinions to figure out what needs to be improved in your game. However, I disagree with releasing an unfinished build as the game's first impression. I understand how difficult it can be to create a game up to decent standards, even for using Twine (I say this because in my opinion it seems the easiest to fully learn, as opposed to something like Unity), but that doesn't mean release a game that's technically playable but unenjoyable due to it being unfinished.
It's important to remember that what you are releasing is directly going to determine your success. I agree with the other comments that setting up a Patreon immediately is a mistake. Someone said it perfectly in the thread, but another reason is, if you released this hoping to receive comments telling you everything that's wrong with this game, why would you then expect them to financially support something they didn't enjoy? Even if you didn't expect support from them financially so early, the Patreon being there gives off the wrong impression.
Regardless, you should remember not everyone will like your game. Even if it is up to a quality standard. As developers, releasing a game is for the people's enjoyment and satisfaction, but not everyone will like it. So please don't be discouraged when reading the comments.
If this were my project and these are the comments I'm listening to, I'd try my best to implement the following in the next update:
- Format
- Content
- Personality
I'm unsure if you'll even see this message. But in hopes that you do, please remember I'm not trying to degrade your game, I have no room to talk and judge another's work. I'm just trying to provide some constructive criticism. I simply enjoy seeing new creators rise and receive love for what they have created so I sincerely hope your game is flooded with positivity in the future.
