If you believe you can make games super fast, go ahead and make one. The early days had much faster release schedules, but a lot of the content from back then has been redone due to low quality. What is released now seems to be much more likely to not need later modifications as it's good enough at the first try.
If you found somewhere way better, then what are you doing here?
As for milking subscribers, I don't see a huge problem. While we like faster releases if possible, there is no scam or false advertising going on here. What is delivered is precisely what we are told. Patreons are aware of the release schedule and have accepted it. If people disagree with release frequency, they can choose to stop being patreons. What I would have an issue with would be some Patreon tier, which promises an updated version every month and then nothing is released for 4 months because that is a desync between what has been promised and what is delivered. To my knowledge, no such promises have ever been made. It's possible that there has been releases, which have been postponed due to issues showing up last minute, but that is what can happen. There was once a Japanese commercial visual novel, which got postponed for a month just a few days before release and it was because they discovered a savegame breaking bug, which they had to patch before people started playing. Regardless of how well you plan, you can always encounter something like that.
