What I've seen some successful content creators do is give their patrons some input into the game, like with polls for the next character or which area of the game gets developed next or what new features get added or a say in what extra content gets made. Game versions and extra content and passwords and cheat codes can all be leaked, but influence can't. There are also people who offer custom scenes to higher level patrons, but they seem to get overwhelmed by that when they get more attention. Lots of people include their patrons in the credits with a thank you message and access to private parts of their discord server where the devs and fans can interact more casually. A&H do most of this already, so I think they're on top of it.
(By the way, what's the most private way I can support someone on Patreon? I haven't supported anyone up until now, but I might be in a position to soon and want to know if there are ways that don't leave a trail that could be found by incredibly nosy and determined family members)
