But isn't he corrupting himself? For me it is obvious that he has ulterior motives and knows about it. He may have started differently, but he has enough slips of the tongue to make it unlikely he still is driven by "improving girls" alone.
Excellent point. The act of corrupting others is a great act of corruption against the self.
I think the MC is kinda in between those. He does seem genuine in wanting to help the girls, but he does show his weakness and takes advantage of his position of power. Power corrupts after all. Imagine having almost absolute power. To me, he is the character who's been corruted the most.
As for Ruth, the MC (in his own corrupted mind) realizes that corrupting her is for the greater good; turning these girls with high potential into top class students. So yeah, he (if you choose the "good guy" route) is absolutely manipulating Ruth. He's also been 100% manipulated himself by Mykock and the school.
It's a beautiful, intricate plot. (whether sounds real or not, lol)

His trajectory is mirrored by Ms. Potts that goes from a gentle teacher to a violent power maniac. In a way Ms. Potts was lucky on speeding up because in that way her own corruption got clear as day. The MC is boiling slowly getting uncomfortable with himself from time to time but not enough to stop.
In the other hand he is at least partially aware now of his own issues, different from the start where he was blind to it.
The point is if he will dive in his own depravity where he can:
-Fully ally himself with Mycock
-Take full control of the school
-Go global with depravity
Or if he will regret it and stop what he is doing where:
-He just drops out of education
-He continues on education but with uncertain paths ahead of him: pure, still lewd, and everything between
-Not to mention the staff and the girls reaction to him representing regret at what he has done.
Wow, you are right. It's a beautiful, intricate plot.
