Hey guys,
Version 0.14 beta is now ready. This update is a little different from anything we’ve done before. The script is the most complex and ambitious I’ve ever written, filled with tongue-in-cheek comedy and hidden meaning. The renders are some of our best, with lots of group scenes with the girls in and out of a variety of costumes. The sex, group blowjob, and spanking animations at the end are also some of the best we’ve done, showcasing our constantly improving abilities with our graphics software. Overall, there is a hell of a lot to enjoy about the new content. However, to pull off such an ambitious storyline I had to compromise somewhere and, for that reason, this update is almost entirely linear. It hopefully won’t feel that way though, as we jump between multiple locations and interact with a lot of characters. Maxine and Ada have the most screen time. However, Priti, Lucy, Alice and Liz all have starring roles.
Check your quest log for a new student quest for Maxine (Pride and President) and a new main quest relating to the school’s owners (Who’s Pulling Mykock?). Both these quests unlock near the start of chapter 2 for new playthroughs, but they will show up in the quest log automatically for old saves. The quests are linked, so be sure to complete all steps in both of them to reach the fundraiser. Also, be sure to donate at least 120 credits to Maxine while she is collecting for charity in her patrol event. The girls are all at an advanced level in this storyline so you need to be pretty much entirely up-to-date in the game. The new uniform rule which triggers the fundraiser (Charity Exemptions), will only unlock once you’ve completed all the requirements. So, if you are starting a new game you’ll have to play through pretty much everything else to reach it. You’ll also need 12 points of Horniness, the first time a rule change has had such a requirement.
Now, I should explain to you all that there was a very late change of plan for what would be in the update. I had planned to spend the last few weeks getting the start of the staff training storyline finished and making some improvements to the new class punishment mechanic. However, I left too many loose ends with the fundraiser storyline and had to go back to wrap things up. At one point in the story, one of the girls does something very naughty. I had planned to leave this naughty girl's punishment for a later update. However, after play-testing with my wife and story consultant, Herdone, she told me I couldn't leave things where they were. Always following her advice on these matters, I wrote and put together another chapter for the fundraiser storyline. So after the end of the fundraiser, keep playing to the following Friday board meeting to see a representative of the school’s owners (Miss Goodhead) show up with a new uniform for all students and a new highly effective method for punishment. My wife is correct about all things, and the update is vastly better now that it has a more satisfying resolution. So, before anyone complains about delaying planned content, please play through to the very end and I think you’ll agree everything has worked out for the best.
So, to clarify, the staff training storyline still isn’t ready and unfortunately, that includes the class spanking event which I previewed in the release poster. There are some important parts of this complicated storyline that I still need to write and some important details about the quest log and gameplay mechanics that I still need to nail down. It’s simply not ready yet. However, I want to stress that this storyline is at an advanced stage and I will be releasing it soon. Fortunately, Maxine’s fundraiser alone is still the biggest update I’ve ever done, so hopefully no one will be disappointed. That said, the fundraiser storyline has highlighted some major challenges for me as a writer and there were a lot of lessons for me to learn about letting storylines spiral. I don’t want to get into a long discussion about that now, but I will address these issues in my next development update.
Along with the new content, there have been some very significant code changes for this version. I confess that when I started making this game my coding skills were very basic. In fact, I began the whole project as a way to teach myself Python. The game's original code was, therefore, fairly rudimentary while at the same time being fiendishly complex and disorganised. For me to make this game at my skill level was equivalent to building a full-sized Eiffel Tower out of matchsticks and PVA glue; an impressive feat in its own way, but not the most stable construction. Now that I have a team behind me, including my anonymous software manager and an excellent coder (Kthunda), work is underway to bit by bit replace my rickety old code with something more robust and easier to work with. I spoke about this process last update, but at that time the changes were all behind the scenes and weren’t really evident to the player. That definitely is not the case anymore. With the introduction of the game's new “Easy Mode” as well as the vastly improved character and quest logs, the advantages of the new code are really starting to shine through. The game definitely feels a lot more polished and it’s much easier to navigate through the complex web of quests and characters. There have also been hundreds of minor bugs, typos and continuity fixes, far more than I can list here. Hats off to my team for all those changes, you guys are amazing.
Of course, with big changes that affect the entire game's code, there is the potential for bugs. We’ve done some very extensive playtesting for this update. However, I am sure a few issues will come out of the woodwork once we open up the testing to orders of magnitude more people. Please, as always, report any bugs over on our
