I've played and greatly enjoyed 14.2beta. I started with my save file from 13.2public, which was 100% complete. I'm playing on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Linux), and had no problems at all (no crashes, no bugs, etc.). This has been discussed before, but I unzipped the new game update into a new directory, not on top of the old one. I think this might be the reason some folks have problems.
Sorry - typo - should have said 14.1beta.

That's exactly it. If you are making a VISUAL NOVEL, half your effort should be for the NOVEL part and the other half for the VISUAL part, and, if you are making a porno game, your effort on the writting should be even less than half of your total effort. In fact, it would be better to avoid any text that doesn't help to get your players horny.
I am sorry but that is utter nonsense. Just because we have this "visual novel" category (which this game doesn't really fit either way) doesn't mean at all that certain percentages need to be put into certain parts. A folk rock band can be more folksy or more rock orientated, a RomCom movie lean more towards the romantic or the comedic part of its name (and probably suck either way, granted).

Most people do not create a song, movie, book, or here a game to fit into a specific category. They create what they like or what they think others would like. And if it doesn't fit a preconceived notion of genre, then so be it.

Just because you (and certainly others) don't like to follow the story but prefer to skip to the "good parts" doesn't mean others have to do it the same way. I personally get nothing from lewd scene after lewd scene games, I want some connection to the characters in the game, some motivation why I should stick my dick in. If I just want a quick fap to a lewd scene, I have plenty of porn educational material on my computer to do so.

And either way, even if almost nobody likes the way a game is created, the dev is still free to continue as they please. It may not be for you, and you certainly are allowed to put that into a review or similar to tell people including the dev about it, but the underlying assumption that others necessarily share your opinion is wrong. And you should know that, considering that your specific kinks do not find that much support elsewhere - which does not mean you are wrong in enjoying them, but I could go to "your" games and tell people that a good game needs romance because most people like to have a connection with their love interests, and it would be just as wrong.

Hey I get this error callstack when I try to pass the rule allowing me to punish the students. RN this means I just can't advance the game which is pretty shitty. Is this a known problem, or does anyone otherwise know how I can fix it? thanks.

That's how new genre is created. If you put all your effort in the writting, you are just writting a novel. If you put effort in more than just your writting, it can be something like a visual novel. How is it utter nonsense? The more I see people trying to make use of their brains, the more I think that mental retardation is the norm.

I totally agree with that. Having a background that build sexual interest is essencial. I just highly doubt that those 500K words are contributing enough to make it worth so much reading.

I can't remember having said that everybody agrees with me.

Or not, and they do what they want, and what others apparently want. Incredible, simply incredible that you can come to such an asinine conclusion that what you want, must be what's done. More so with the dev's thriving patreon.
ICSTOR's patreon is yet ahead, so by your standards ICSTOR is making a better job. Nice one that logic of yours.

While I generally agree with that a story shouldn't contain "overload", it is hard to keep this out. As far, as I know people who write densely might even start with bigger dialogues and step by step reduce it to it's core, what is even more time consuming than just put something down. Thus it might even have taken longer to put the update out. And I'm really not sure, how much one could reduce the given story, as it is still quite good to read (at least for me) and let Ada and Maxine grow closer to me.
On some spaces I would have rather wanted some bits more of information like some remarks of the headmaster regarding Emily's nudist story starting with day 3 when she had to bare her pussy, some explanation why Wilson wasn't creeping around and maybe also some info why Priti did never wear her new uniform in those new scenes.

As I said, you don't write to get into a genre. So when some story in your definition fits into "Visual Novel" you cannot at the same time that a real "Visual Novel" should have this and that characteristic.

Maybe true for you, but not an absolute statement.

Often enough. This is not the first time I come across you in threads, and your personal idea of a nice game, which is reflected in your username, shone through before.

"I can hear the showers running and the window isn’t locked. I’ll slide my ruler into the gap and open the window. Hopefully no one will hear me. Mmmm… What a pleasant view. I still don’t think I know the names of a lot of those girls. I recognise a few of them. A lot of these girls don’t take history and so I am mostly reliant on the other teachers to make sure they behave. I should focus on Claire’s training to make sure these girls are receiving enough discipline during school hours. Anyway, these girls don’t seem to be behaving badly at the moment. I should move on."

Those are 110 words in a lewd scene, so I have even cherrypicked to make it easy to find sexy text and found nothing worth reading in order to get me horny. Did this text get you horny? Notice that the initial description is pointless since you are already watching what’s going on.

The lines you've randomly picked convey a huge amount of information to the player; you need the ruler to open the window, these girls are not in your class, and you need to focus on Claire's training to advance the story. All important information to a new player and the game as a whole is better for them, plus you get to look at girls showering while you read. A win-win. Also, you've picked up on my 500K words comment and ignored where I said 14,000 images. That's an image for every 36 words, way better than the average visual novel. You've clearly not bothered to actually read the story, and that's fine, but don't tell everyone else that they are wrong for enjoying it.

Does this text get me horny directly? No. it doesn't. But it serves to create an athmosphere within the whole game (not on its own) to make me enjoy the game more. I prefer phrasing it this way since "getting horny to fap" isn't always my main idea. Now we can certainly find some lines I would agree are not necessary, but in general if the game was only about setting up fap scenes I would not be interested at all, as I said there are other options for me to get that. So if this style doesn't do it for you, why not find something else that works better for you and leave this be for those who like it?

Beneath giving information, the creepyness of the scene creates in me tension, what is not a positive feeling as such, but gives positive feelings once the tension gets released in a way, that is shown as being positive (helping the girls, keeping Ada from destroying the memory card...). Adding a positive naughty scene after the release of tension can build better hornyness than only pushing for naughty scenes. Like it feels quite intense to fuck the pardner after a hefty row. This is often used in the headmaster in it's own very special way and makes for me a big part of the charm of the game.

Of course this is only a game, a work of fantasy, and what is here shown as being positive should be never tried in real world.

This game is quite something else... The writing is outstanding. The story is pretty believable if you don't have some required knowledge to negate it. This porn game proves it can still provide a creative and profound experience even if it complies with Patreon's regulations. And the experience is not just about sexual gratification, but also about the climax brought by control and power from a believable plot.

The discussion is pretty tense, which is very good. Shows that the game affects the living. Both in a good and not so good way.
I'm looking forward to the final release, and while I've been looking forward to at least the beta, I'll wait a little longer.
I like such a detailed description in the text, it conveys not only the atmosphere, but also emotions. The picture does not always fully do this.
Let's just say that it works at different levels of perception, and creates a complete immersion in the plot and what is happening.
It is a pity, of course, that this update has reached us for so long, but I hope that the author will draw conclusions.
We all make mistakes, there's nothing wrong with that.
It's bad not to draw conclusions. I hope the author will not be offended by the comments, and he will be prompted to think.
The progress of the game is noticeable, I went through it for the second time, after the release of the beta, but not completely (I'm waiting for the final one).

This issue has already been discussed multiple times here.
See here:

Temporary workaround:
  1. Rollback
  2. Open console (shift + o)
  3. Write rule_page = 1
  4. Press enter

How would change the player game experience not knowing it? It is the first time I read this and I really don't notice how it is relevant.

these girls are not in your class
Do the player need to keep it in mind to do the right decision at some point or is it just an irrelevant detail to mention?

and you need to focus on Claire's training to advance the story.
I have already a quest log that let me know it. A very cheap way to encrease your word count.

All important information to a new player and the game as a whole is better for them
I played your game without reading it and now that I read it, I don't miss having done it earlier.

plus you get to look at girls showering while you read. A win-win.
I don't complain at all about the visual part of this lewd scene, just about the big amount of pointless text. You have said that you have improved your skills to make animations and I agree, your game is more pleasant to watch now than before.

Also, you've picked up on my 500K words comment and ignored where I said 14,000 images. That's an image for every 36 words, way better than the average visual novel.
I think it isn't a visual novel and at least that's why I play it. Passively reading a visual novel isn't going to get me to fap. The sandbox aspect of your game is key for me to being able to fap to it.

You've clearly not bothered to actually read the story, and that's fine, but don't tell everyone else that they are wrong for enjoying it.
I did try to read it, but doing so was a bonekiller so I don't do it at all what I don't really like neither. I would like to be able to enjoy the text.

Wait, wait, do you play porno games for something else than fapping? How does that make sense?

I think everyone got your point. You don't want to read too much in a porn game and this game needs much reading.
So it is not your kind of game and it is totally ok. Fortunately for you, there are hundreds of other games on f95 that you may enjoy.

It has been 2 pages of debate. You won't change your mind and the people liking the game won't as well.

So can we move on now, please?
